Everyone: Sorry, I forgot to post! I shall post in an hour or so. I am about to re-post the previous chapter, because I bet you forgot what happened! XDD

Chapter 41

Percy POV

The wind whipped through my hair as we flew across the country. The amount of stars in the sky was tre mendous, I had never seen so many. Halyptia was flying ahead of me, on her grey pegasus. Piper was to my right, talking to me quietly.
"...I think there's something wrong with Halyptia." She confided. I looked towards Halyptia, then turned my head to Piper. I nodded.
"I think so too..." I confessed.
Halyptia began to change since we met Sophia. The way she put down an object, as if she loathed it. The way she answered our questions quickly and vaguely; we irritated her. At least, it seemed that way. It was probably the stress of the quest getting to her, so I never tried to pry. I wasn't sure what else it could be.

"Do you want to stop?" Piper asked. I could tell she was really tired. She had begun to get dark circles around her eyes. They were beginning to get puffy.
"I know we haven't slept much in the last few days, but we're so close!" I said, trying to sound enthusiastic. "...and the quicker we finish, the closer we are to the real beds back at Camp.." I finished persuasively. Piper shot her eyes open wide.
"Let's go! Hurry Beauty!!" She yelled eagerly. I grinned.
"You named your pegasus, Beauty?" I asked.
"Well, you call your pegasus 'Blackjack'!" She countered. We began laughing.

Boss! It's urgent! Blackjack said.
"What happened?" I asked worriedly.
I need to go!
"Go where? We're in the middle of a quest!" I exclaimed. He couldn't just leave.
I need to go... to the little pegasus's room! Take the hint, Boss!
"Oh..!" I replied, trying not to laugh. "Okay, we'll make a stop now, for half-an-hour or so?"
Thanks! Blackjack replied, quickly shooting down, straight to the ground. The others copied.
Halyptia looked quite shocked by the sudden change of direction.

As we landed, I realized that it was much colder than it seemed. I hugged my jacket, which I bought at the village we stopped in a few days ago. I was wearing Camp clothes and over that, I wore my armour and the jacket. Halyptia wore the same thing. Piper was wearing her armour under her clothes, and she wore a ski jacket.
We had landed in the middle of a deserted town, in the middle of nowhere.
Halyptia took out her sword and shield, and we copied.
We walked up and down the streets to find a place where we could rest, but every building was empty. There was no sound, but the wind. There were no lights.
"Creepy..." I whispered to the two girls, as we walked together.
"I know..." Piper replied in a hushed voice. "Where is everyone?"
"I have no idea..." Halyptia whispered back. That was the first time, in a few days, that Halyptia talked without being prompted to. If things weren't so freaky, I would've been glad.
A very light whisper reached my ears. It could've been mistaken for the wind. I looked at Piper.
"Did you hear that?" I breathed.
"Yeah..." Piper replied softly. She was nervous.
I turned to Halyptia.
"Did you..-" I began silently.
"Yeah." She replied in a shaky breath, cutting me off.
We heard it again. It was muffled and hushed, but it clashed with the wind.
It seemed to be whispering 'Hello?'.
The three of us looked at eachother.
"Let's quietly leave and find the pegasi, quickly" I whispered.
"Anyone there?" I heard the muffled voice again. It was as though they were trying not to attract attention and trying to get help. I had a strong suspicion that it was a monster.
"Who are you? Help me.." The quiet voice was behind us.
We got our weapons ready.
Quickly, we spun around, soundless.
It was a boy.
About seventeen. He was seriously injured all over. Blood covered him from head to toe. I could see some dangerous wounds.
"Help me.." He whispered weakly, about to collapse any second.
I wasn't sure if this was a trick or not. Piper looked shocked and Halyptia was frozen still. We didn't know what to do.
Halyptia finally spoke.
"Who are you?" She silently asked, cautious. She had beads of sweat on her forehead and her hands were shaking. I felt numb against the cold, and my legs hurt badly. Piper was shivering.
"I... Z-Zachary Romero.."

Chapter 42

Halyptia POV

Zachary collapsed.
It was all so unexpected. We were frightened. I had thought the whispers belonged to a monster, not a boy. I didn't know what to think of the situation. I just ran to his aid.
Why was he alone in an abandoned town? Who or what had wounded him so badly? So many questions flooded my mind.
"Percy, there are medical supplies in your backpack. Bring them here, quickly!" I whispered, my eyes searching for the worst wounds. Percy handed me a box filled with the medical supplies that the Apollo kids gave us. It also contained some health mixtures, from the Hecate kids.
I started cleaning Zachary's wounds with cotton, dipped in an anti-infection concoction. I started with his face.
As I wiped away the fresh blood from his forehead and cheeks, I noticed his elfish features. He had upturned eyebrows, and slightly pointed ears. There was a hint of a sly smile on his face, even though he was unconscious. I couldn't help but smile slightly.
He was slightly taller than Percy, but he was a bit skinny and looked pale and weak. Like he hadn't eaten properly in weeks. I quickly finished cleaning his facial wounds. I began cleaning his more dangerous wounds with Nectar. He had deep gashes all over his arms and legs.
I bandaged up the fatal wounds, and began rinsing his light brown hair with water from a bottle, because it had traces of dried blood all over it.
After I was satisfied, I stood up and looked him over. He had a few bandages on his legs, and many more on his arms.
I suddenly started to panic.
What did this to him?! I thought, worriedly. I wasn't sure what to do now.
"Should we leave him?" I asked the other two, who had been watching quietly. I realized it was a stupid question, after I had said it. Piper looked bewildered.
"How can we leave him here?! He just got attacked by something that could still be here!" She replied, in hushed urgency.
"I think Piper's right," Percy nodded in approval. "..but we can't just drop him off at another town."
"Why?" I replied, confused. What else could we do?
"He could be a like us," Percy whispered. "Maybe he was on the run? We couldn't just drop him off elsewhere, where monsters could possibly hunt him down again."
"How do we know if he's a demigod?" Piper asked. I looked at Percy for an answer.
"I don't know.." He replied, frowning. We all looked towards the unconscious boy. He looked terribly tired.
"We'll just have to camp out here for the night, until he wakes up tommorrow." I told them.
"What about the quest?" She asked. I could see her worry lines.
"We can't fly him to Nyx in this state," I explained. "I think he fainted due to exhaustion, more than anything else. He's probably confused and worried. We don't even know what happened. He'll probably regain consciousness by tommorrow, and then we can calmly question him." I concluded.
"I don't think we'll be safe camping out here." Piper said, as she scanned the surrounding area for trouble. I nodded.
"Let's walk further out and set up camp in a well hidden location. I think the Ares kids provided some camoflague." I suggested. The others seemed to agree, so we carried Zachary to a faraway area. It was quite difficult, and I felt exhausted. It was very hot, even though it was night.
The place we reached was a small part of town with a lot of foliage. We spotted a large overhanging tree, that concealed it's entire trunk. It was also surrounded by wild bushes.
Perfect. I thought, relieved.
We carried Zachary into the concealed area and started setting a tent up, around him.
The Ares kids had only given us a jar of mud. Percy seemed to find this funny. I shot him a look, but I laughed too. The Ares kids were horrid. I decided to just paint the tent with it, for extra precaution.
When we were satisfied that we wouldn't likely be spotted, we got ready for sleeping.
I was deep in thought. This quest was just getting curiouser and curiouser.
I sighed, and closed my eyes, inviting sleep to my tired body.
Darkness engulfed me.

Chapter 43

Halyptia POV

It was dawn.
Everyone was else still asleep. I was still worried about the town.
Why was it deserted, and what harmed this boy?
"Where are we?" Someone asked weakly. It was Zachary.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" I asked.
"Great!" He replied, smiling hard. He stretched his arms, but winced at the pain.
"Sure you are," I smiled, looking at him pointedly. He grinned mischieviously.
He was different now. Last night he was a helpess boy about to die. Now, he looked like he was about to pull a prank on me.
"I wanted to ask what happened," I told him, after a moment of silence. His warm, brown eyes swept across the inside of our tent. I could tell he was nervous.
"I was attacked." He replied, his voice suddenly hoarse.
"Do you know what attacked you?" I asked, like I was urging a child to continue.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." He laughed anxiously.
"Try me." I replied. He looked straight into my eyes, trying to search for an answer.
"Who are you?" He asked. He glanced at our weapons and then at my armour. "Are you like me?"
"What do you mean?" I pryed. Maybe our guess was right.
"I.. I see things. Stuff that other people can't see.." He replied warily. "I probably sound a bit crazy now, huh?" He added, looking at me for an answer.
I felt, strange. I felt like I was falling from a high cliff. Am I sick? I asked myself.
"I don't think you're crazy. What sort of 'things' do you see?" I replied. He made a curious face. That wasn't the answer he was expecting. He had probably wanted someone to finally confirm his madness.
"Well, I sometimes see blurry things moving around in the wind.. I once saw thought I saw a horse in the sky, but I convinced myself it was a large bird." He laughed.
I knew what he meant. I used to occasionally see things that I couldn't explain, too.
'Blurry things' in the wind? That could mean Wind Spirits or Wind Nymphs... and the 'horse' was probably a Pegasus.. I reasoned.
"Great! Now, back to your previous question" I said, as he looked confused. "We are demigods."
Zachary just raised his eyebrows.
"What are demigods?" He asked, even more confused.
"Well, you know about the Greek Gods, right?" I asked. He nodded slowly.
"The myths and stories about them were actually true," I explained.
Please don't run away.
He just stared at me.
"..and that includes the part where they had children with mortals," I continued. He continued staring.
Now he thinks I'm crazy.
"Those children were called demigods." I finished. Not a single movement from him.
There was silence.
"Prove it." He said. I laughed at his expression.
"Okay, but what attacked you?" I asked.
He looked strained at the memory.
"It was... a lady with a serpent's tail instead of two legs." He shuddered.
That's why the town's deserted..

Sorry this chapter was slow. :/
I think this is the worst chapter I've written.. xD
I am working on it. :P
I have the entire thing planned out and completed.. ;)
