Chapter 52

Penelope POV

As we flew closer to the dot in the distance, it split in three.
Slowly, I realized that it was three pegasi.
"I think it's them!" I told Annabeth.
"Finally! Time for a reunion!" Leo grinned.
Annabeth smiled and squinted to get a better look.
"Percy looks a little different.." Annabeth said uncertainly.
After a pause, her eyes widened.
"That isn't Percy." She stated.
I peered at the boy riding the pegasus on the far left.
Annabeth was right. He didn't look like my half-brother.
This boys hair was shorter, and light brown instead of black.
His eyes were not sea green, like ours.
As the three figures reached us, Halyptia spoke up. They all looked shocked.
"What are you three doing here?!" She said, surprisedly.
"Long story," Annabeth replied. "..but where's Percy?" She asked worriedly.
I could tell she was extremely agitated.
Piper and Halyptia exchanged nervous glances.
"He's been kidnapped." Halyptia replied, quietly.
"What?! How could he possibly get kidnapped?!" Annabeth yelled.
"We don't know. He was standing next to us, and then he was gone." Piper explained anxiously.
"Um.. who's this dude?" Leo said, pointing towards the boy.
"We found him in a deserted town. He's a demigod." Halyptia explained.
Annabeth looked like she was going to be sick.
"Why does this happen to me?! Why do I always lose Percy?!" Annabeth screamed to the skies.
"Annabeth, we'll find him." Piper reassured. "Don't lose hope."
As soon as Piper spoke those words, I felt like everthing was going to be okay.
That girl's charmspeak is incredibly powerful.
"Let's make camp. We can exchange stories." Piper suggested.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Our Pegasi descended into a nearby villiage.
We set up three tents in a triangle and made a fire in the middle of them.
First, Halyptia explained everything that had happened to them. She told us about the Necklace of Harmonia, the Lamia, Nyx and the Ceryneian Hind.
"You have the Necklace of Harmonia?" I asked in astonishment.
"Yeah," Piper said, searching through her backpack for it. She took it out and handed it to me.
"Hephaestus crafted it for my mother's daughter, Harmonia." Piper explained.
"Wait. You're saying dad created this cursed necklace? Awesome!" Leo exclaimed.
Annabeth shot Leo a look.
"That necklace caused hundreds and thousands of deaths. Not awesome." She said.
"Oh.. right." Leo replied quietly, shrinking back into his sleeping bag.
"I'll take first watch.." Annabeth said sadly, walking away.
Poor Annabeth..
