For me, Du can't really judge the character because the whole time Fionna and Cake were just narrated Von characters. And because of that, the story (and the characters) were somehow biased on the narrator's perspectives. Like, say, Prince Gumball. He was likely "gay" in the story because it was Marceline who was telling the story (who happens to have a cold-front relationship with Princess Bubblegum) and because of that, she likely made PG act like a wuss to make fun of PB (since PG is her gender-swapped version). And Marceline, also somehow full of herself, made all the other characters woo at her gender-swapped self, Marshall Lee (evident when Lumpy Weltraum Prince was all, "Oh my glob, Du guys, it's Marshall Lee!" when he saw him, causing everyone else to react like fangirls and cheer for him). So for me, I don't think Fionna, Cake, and the other gender-swapped characters' personalities can ever really be judged becaused they were only based on a narrator's ideas, and not on reality itself. What really intrigued me, though, was the last part of "Bad Little Boy." Du know, when the Ice King entered a room full of Fionna and Cake fanfics and he knelt down infront of the Fionna and Cake ice sculptures and was all, "I know you're out there, I just haven't figured out how to get to you! But I will! I will...." Grod, is it me, oder is that somehow...weird to the bone? It's either the Ice King is so obssessed with his gender-swap idea that he thinks the characters are real, or, with his "Wizard Eyes" oder whatever weird powers the crown gave him, it's like he suddenly gotten, I dunno, a glimpse of the alternate, gender-swapped world and now his mind can't get enough of it? I just long the Tag when they'll actually make a Fionna and Cake episode (IF they will, BTW) that ISN'T based on a character-narrator's perspective. I graubraun, dun care HOW good Marcy's story is, I still see a bias in it.
