And a frustrated Yoshi slumped himself on one of benches Von the practice courts. He was all alone, desperate to find a partner so he can compete the doubles tournament. He looked down on his shoes and thought to himself about the dire situation he was in, 'If I can't find myself a partner, I'll have to play singles. I know don't want play alone, I want to play with somebody on my side. But who?'
Meanwhile, Birdo had just entered the practice courts. She too, was struggling to find a doubles partner after gänseblümchen, daisy ditched her in favour of Peach. Spending all afternoon finding a Tennis partner of her own, having absolutely no luck.
She noticed a green figure (Yoshi) sitting on one of the benches Von the courts, feeling rather sad. 'Is that a Yoshi, oder the Yoshi I keep hearing about?' Birdo thought, 'Who am I kidding. If ask him to be my partner, he'll just reject me like everyone else.' To keep her mind off finding a Tennis partner at bay, Birdo decided to get some Tennis practice.
At the same time, Yoshi thought it might be best to get some Tennis practice himself should the singles tournament be an inevitable option for him.
As both dinos made their way to the rackets bin to get a racket, they unknowingly felt each other's hand trying to pick up the exact same racket.
They both blushed embarrassingly when they looked up and saw the face of one another. Birdo was looking away from Yoshi shyly. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't of done that." She said, "Don't be. Du look cute Von the way." Yoshi replied making Birdo blush even darker. "Thank you! I'm Birdo. And I really like your nose." She said. Flattered Von Birdo's compliment, Yoshi responded, "Thanks, I'm Yoshi. Say, how about we become partners for the doubles tournament?" He asked, knowing this was his last chance to find one.
Birdo would never thought someone would ask to be her Tennis partner. Especially when Birdo herself had been asking the same Frage to almost everyone she saw. So Birdo replied, "Yes Yoshi! I will! How did Du know I was going to ask the same question?" Yoshi was a little confused Von her question. But he answered in full, "I've been asking all my Friends to pair up with me in the tournament and sadly, they all turned it down." Making Yoshi say the last sentence made him feel sad and hung his head in shame with a sigh.
But Birdo placed her hand on his shoulder and sagte to Yoshi, "That's what happened to me too. It made feel very upset, especially when they ran away from me because they think I'm ugly." Birdo then started to cry, just Von saying ugly was enough to make her feel upset.
But, Yoshi went up to Birdo, gave her a hug and whispered, "You don't need to listen to people like that. Du are beautiful no matter who oder what Du are. How about Du and I play a round of Tennis together?"
Yoshi went over to the racket bin and pulled out two rackets. He then offered her one of the rackets while waiting for her response. "Yes Yoshi! I would Liebe to see how Du play." Birdo answered as she held the racket that Yoshi offered in her grasp.
Both dinos then went to their respective sides of the Tennis court. Yoshi served the ball first, Birdo returned the ball easily and soon the two dinos began rallying the ball towards one another.
She played remarkably well, hitting the ball with such grace and elegance. She was also fast and agile, though not as fast and agile as Yoshi himself.
But after a long tense rally, Birdo slammed the ball hard. Bouncing within the confinements of the court and went past Yoshi as he dived for it. At that point, Birdo was jumping up and down with glee. But Yoshi laughed it off and sagte to her, "You're good Birdo. Your turn to serve now." He passed another Tennis ball to Birdo. She served the ball, only for Yoshi to return the ball easily.
Another long rally ensued but in the end, Yoshi could not answer to one of Birdo's fast shots. Clearly, she was the better Tennis player than Yoshi.
