Previously on The Red Revenge...
Okay, so things didn't go well in Rio De Janeiro. Batman, and the rest of the Justice League are reaming our butts for the death of the Russian finalist.
As if we didn't feel bad enough for the loss of one life, World War III is about to be on our heads.
"I need your help." Revenge said.
"No." Batgirl replied.
"See ya." Revenge said, closing the door.
The knob to the room began to turn.
"Wait!" Batgirl exclaimed, leaping into the corridor as the iron door closed and the other door opened.
Revenge stopped cold in the Weiter room. It was a balcony overlooking an empty hangar with the letters USSR stamped on the wall. The Soviet flag flew high.
Revenge and Barbara turned to leave, but the door opened to reveal the Russian President with a gun aimed at their faces.
"Nightwing?"
"Report Wondergirl."
"Batgirl isn't responding."
“Get suited up. We're leaving."
The Russians bring their Pistolen to bär on the wooden door and fire. Revenge leaps in front of me, taking the shock and damage of the bullets. But fifteen AK-47s firing into his chest manages to knock him out.
The Russians bust open the door and knock me down with a gewehr to the head. One points his gun at me.
"Voz'mite ikh s losifom!"
Translation: Take them to Joseph.
"The Soviets are making a come-back. Right beneath your feet is an elaborate base housing hundreds of thousands of soldiers. Millions of pounds of armed weapons. And, the leader of the new U.S.S.R. is the Russian President.”
Grant continued to walk. Suddenly, the green-black clad assassin landed in front of him. "Hello!" she sagte with a devilish grin. She sliced him on the face and knocked him to the ground. Grant slid backwards a ways before looking up, terror and fear in his eyes.
stechpalme, holly pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the boy laying in the snow. She grinned and put her finger on the trigger.
But hesitated. Slowly, stechpalme, holly lowered the pistol.
"Batman is going to want to interrogate her. It isn't going to be a nice thing to watch."
"That's why I'm not telling Batman."
Artemis raised an eyebrow.
"Don't tell the League oder the Team."
"Fine."
Chapter 18-
Revenge jettisoned a secret compartment in the plane. stechpalme, holly was locked away in it. It would land at his secret base while he, as Samuel Grant, would make his public return.
"That took, forever." Revenge said, walking into the base, slipping his mask on.
"I took your package in the back." Sarah said, peeling her domino mask off.
"Good." Revenge said. "Usual hospitalities?"
"Yeah."
"Thanks, go home."
Sarah raised an eyebrow but nodded. She slipped a jacke and pair of blue jeans over her costume and walked out of the door.
Revenge made sure he had his full suit on and walked into the safe, sicher room.
It was a small room. Plain, wooden walls and three windows. A schreibtisch and lamp was in one corner. A dresser was in the second, closet in the third right Weiter to a doorway leading to a bathroom. stechpalme, holly was sitting on the bed, her head down. She had changed into a pair of dark jeans and green shirt. Her hair was hanging loosely behind her.
"Surprised you're still here." Revenge said.
"Windows have enough volts to toss me back to Russia." stechpalme, holly replied. "I could've taken the emergency exit though."
Revenge frowned and walked over to her. stechpalme, holly flinched and moved away slightly, but Revenge merely unlocked her handcuffs.
"You know, in movies, the bad guys take the handcuffs off the Heroes and they end up dead." stechpalme, holly said, looking up.
"This isn't a movie." Revenge said, ignoring the Kommentar about being a bad guy.
stechpalme, holly nodded and looked back down sadly.
Revenge opened his mouth to ask a Frage when stechpalme, holly spoke again.
"They're coming." she said.
"Who?" Revenge asked.
"The League of Shadows." stechpalme, holly replied.
"I've defeated them before, haven't I?"
"They're not coming for you."
"Grant's safe."
"You don't get it, do you?" stechpalme, holly asked, looking up. "They're coming for me."
Revenge narrowed his eyes.
"I failed. I'm in your custody now. They're coming to shut me up. Permanently."
Revenge looked at the girl Weiter to him. Sixteen years old. Merely fallen in with the wrong crowd (if it could be called that) and was now the target of a group she used to work for. Her blonde hair was shimmering behind her and Revenge could see the sorrow in her smaragd eyes.
He put his hand on her shoulder for a Sekunde before leaving. The door hissed closed behind him.
"Red Revenge to Batcave."
"You? Again?" Robin's face appeared on the screen.
"Where's Batman?"
"Private Justice League Assignment on Mars. He's delivering parts for a non-meta Weltraum station. Why?"
Revenge cut the transmission.
"Red Revenge to Batman."
It took a moment for the Dark Knight to respond.
"What?"
"I need every bit of information Du have on the League of Shadows and Ra's Al Ghul."
"You'll have to manually get it out of the Batcave. I'm--"
"On Mars. Robin told me when I tried to get Du at the BatCave."
"I'll send Robin and Batgirl to the Cave. Du can head over to the Batcave and download the information."
"I need--"
"Don't lie." Batman said, interrupting the Black Hero. "You know the access code."
Revenge grinned. "Good Luck."
"Right." Batman said.

It was two in the morning when Sam's mom called him.
"Sam, honey? Where are you?"
Sam groaned and looked at his watch, noticing the time.
"I'm at the bibliothek doing research for a...test tomorrow." Sam partially lied. "I'll be Home in a minute."
"Okay." his mom replied and hung up.
Sam sighed and shut off the computers. He rubbed his eyes. He checked on Holly. She was fast asleep, pulse steady and breathing normal. It was hard to fake that. Her blanket was tossed around as if she had been having a nightmare. Revenge pulled the blanket back over her and walked out.
Sam slipped off his suit and slipped on some jeans and a hemd, shirt before grabbing his motorcycle and heading home.
