Worth part VI
"Do Du know where we're going?" Artemis asked, her irritation making her forget to be cautious of the noise we made.
"Yes," I said, "according to the map, we're almost to the main labs. We're supposed to meet the others there."
"I know where we're supposed to be meeting them," she snapped, "And what do Du mean Von 'according to the map'. What'd Du do, memorize it?"
"Yes." I stopped when I realized Artemis had halted. "Why'd Du stop?"
"You memorized the map?"
I rolled my eyes and kept shuffling along.
"Kaldur had it up for five minutes," she said, following me again.
"Five Minuten was Mehr than plenty of time," I said, "I have an eidetic memory. Anything I see, read, oder hear, I automatically remember." 'Including things I'd rather forget,' I thought to myself.
"Are we there yet?" Artemis asked after a moment of silence.
"No Artemis, we are not. What are Du so anxious about anyway?" Then, remembering the rest of her team. "The boys and the others can take care of themselves."

"We're usually linked up telepathically while on missions," she said, "It's difficult for Megan to link us up when we're so out of range. Especially with so many of us down here. I'm sure she's linked with Fang, though," she sounded slightly destressed, though determined not to Zeigen it.
"Don't worry, goddess, we still have our coms, though there seems to be a lot of friction in here scrambling the frequencies." I had noticed the issue when Artemis and I had escaped into the air-duct away from the henchmen. It was odd, though not significant enough to worry me.
The passage teilt, split at an intersection, and I took the right path without hesitating, keeping track of our progress on my mental-map. "Alright, goddess," I said, crawling over a vent opening covered Von a screen, "our exit is right ahead-" I yelped as the grid gave way beneath me.
"Silver," Artemis yelled as I fell. Braced for a hard fall, I was surprised when my landing was blunted. I rolled to the side and sprang to my feet, expecting henchmen to surround. Instead, two flabbergasted jr. heroines stared at me with wide eyes and open mouths.
"Hi Wally," Artemis said, poking her head through the vent opening I had fallen through. I followed her amused gaze directly down and discovered that it was Kid Flash that had broken my fall.
"Wally," one of the girls gasped, rushing over and helping him up. Just in time for Artemis to leap onto the ground.
"Sorry," I said, fealing my cheeks grow warm, "I guess the grid was loose." The metal grate lay Weiter to KF.
"Actually, that was kinda my fault," Kid Flash confessed. "I was loosening it to let Robin and Shade through. They were supposed to meet us here." At that moment, the Boy Wonder and Becca dropped through.
"What are Du two doing here?" Becca asked.
"The boys and we teilt, split up," Artemis explained, "Then we almost got caught, so we escaped into the vents. We ended up here when Silver Wings fell on KF."
"Fell on KF?" Robin repeated.
"Yes, through the vent," Artemis said. Before they could make any jokes, I cut in. "Shouldn't we be getting to the Weapon?"
"Right," the other girl, a redhead, said.
Robin showed us a holographic map just like the one at the cave. "The tracker that we had placed on the Weapon has been deactivated, but it still gives of a high level of radioactivity that I can track." A red blip appeared on the map. "For the quickest route, we take the Weiter right," Robin continued, tracing a path with his finger, "we can double back to the central hallway, then at a left there's a large lab. That's where the Weapon is."
I had already thought of the route to the Weapon and had one planned out. It was not as quick, though we would be able to avoid Mehr henchmen.
"Or-," I was about to suggest. Then the Wand beside me exploded outward.
