Chapter Two-

Jazzman waited until they were in an alley to confront them.

"What do Du want?" he asked, turning around.

Sam and Becca looked at each other. They had hoped to get farther than this, at least to the base, but it seemed Jazzman wasn't as stupid as they had thought.

Sam looked at Becca, who was still slightly nervous about the villain, and stepped forward.

"I think Du recognize me." he said.

"What do yo want, Grant?" Jazzman asked. "I already paid you."

Thoughts whirled through Becca's mind. 'Pay him? For what?'

"That's not what I'm here for." Sam said. "I want in all the way."

This statement only confused Becca even more. What in the world was Sam talking about?

Jazzman hesitated. "Who's your girlfriend?" he asked cautiously.

"Rebecca Stevens," Sam said. "She has a history."

Becca stepped forward. She was wearing a brown jacke that matched her hidden eyes, a black and red shirt, and a red miniskirt over a pair of blue jeans. She obviously caught Jazzman's attention.

"This way." Jazzman sagte after a moment of hesitation more.

The two teenagers followed Jazzman into a doorway at the end of the alley. After following a dizzying passage of elevators and staircases, which Becca couldn't memorize if she wanted, the trio reached a brightly lit room. Inside, men were playing poker and pool. They all looked up as Jazzman entered the room.

"This is Samuel Grant. I'm sure Du all remember him." Jazzman said. Everyone nodded.

"Who's the hot chick?" Someone asked from the back of the room.

"The 'hot chick' is my girlfriend James." Sam said. "Want a rematch?"

The man who had asked the Frage shrunk back as everyone laughed at him.

"Bradley, Zeigen these two to their room while I go talk to...someone." Jazzman said.

Sam narrowed his eyes under his sunglasses. He followed Bradley down the hall to a room.

"Here." Brad said. "The boss will be in to see Du in half an hour. Get cozy." 

Sam nodded as he closed the door. Without a word, he and Becca began setting up the equipment Batman had gegeben them. When they were finished, Becca collapsed onto the bed.

"God," Becca breathed. "it's hot in here." 

Sam smirked.

"Not in that way!" Becca retorted.

Sam grinned and headed for a side room when Becca caught his arm.

"What did Jazzman mean about everyone knowing you?" Becca asked.

Sam was about to answer when the door opened and Jazzman waked in. "Well. Well." he said.
