Schreiben Frage

I need some help.

I am typing up a book on microsoft word and am using the sentence:

"They both had a stubborn personality, and would not accept help."

and word is wanting me to change it to:

"They both a stubborn personality, and would not accept help."

Why would this be? The sentence does npt make any sense the Sekunde way...

The one that Word wants Du to change it to is wrong, but so is the original one. It should read:

"They both had stubborn personalities and would not accept help."

I'm not sure why it would want Du to change it to that. It doesn't make sense. It's just a little off. (Refer to answer below)

The grammar of the Sekunde sentence is wrong actually,I think...You'd better not to change it
