Isn’t it a wonderful time… Unless you’re sitting at home, alone, unable to socialize, and instead of actually having a Valentine, Du just stay Home and talk about scary video games on Valentine’s Day… Good, me too. So, instead of experiencing things like love, let’s experience things like horror, and depression. Oh, all in just one big package. So today, let’s take a look at a simple little browser game known as Will Liebe Tear Us Apart, and I’m not talking about the song Von Joy Division.



Will Liebe Tear Us Apart is a very artistic game created back some time ago. I’m not sure when exactly it was made, since the page doesn’t say much, but I’m assuming it was around 2012 to 2013. The game, while not about the Joy Division song, was inspired and is based on the song “Love Will Tear Us Apart”, focusing on the darker side of relationships, such as anger, stress, anxiety, and depression. The perfect thing to talk about for Valentine’s Day. The game has many different outcomes for what will happen, and if Du will be able to save your relationship oder completely destroy it. The game has many different scenes in it, which can all be very creepy. But it’s a very short game as well, and can be completed rather quickly, in about twenty Minuten to be exact.



The first part of the game starts with Du in a strange world with these shadow people with white masks. Du have to read their expressions and use cards to describe what their emotions are. Getting one right gets Du closer to the Weiter level. Once Du finish that, Du will start the Weiter level, where the game really takes off from here. Du are inside what looks like a giant herz maze, and Du must control two people and get them to the center. Du must avoid these strange shadow things, and also really worry when the blood starts to appear. After that, Du will then reach the final part of the game, which is now in a 3D style, and Du are told that Liebe will either snare you, save you, oder tear Du apart. After this, Du will take a path to decide what must happen with the relationship, which is up to you, and I do like this.



For a game this short, it manages to Zeigen a lot of stressful parts of romance. I’m not going to be one of those people that acts all childish and says romance is dumb, but it would be naive to say that there exists a perfect relationship. I’m in a relationship with a girl right now, who I Liebe very much. But we get into arguments at times and we don’t always agree with everything, but we always manage to make things work. That’s the thing with this game. It tells Du that there exists no perfect relationship, no matter what. The ones Du see in fairy tail’s aren’t real, and this game shows Du true relationships, throughout these two characters who Du don’t hear from through their voices, but see how they always feel trapped and left behind when the other is involved, and normally, I am not a Fan of games with endings that Du can choose the outcome of, making Zurück choices pointless, but here, after seeing the relationship of these two, it lets Du pick if they should try and make things work for each other, stay stuck in a broken relationship, oder leave and end up breaking their hearts completely, all shown in a rather disturbing way.



Will Liebe Tear Us Apart is a very haunting game, with a lot of thought put into the Schreiben and the style of it. It is a very simple game and can easily be finished within a few minutes, and may not feel like much of a game, but if Du want to try out a game that is disturbing, but also manages to have a lot of herz put into it, than I think Will Liebe Tear Us Apart is a great choice. Also, it’s a free game to play on the official website, so there’s no need to worry about paying money for a twenty Minute game.
