I hate twilight. It is not addictive, it is not well written, the character's are not fascinating oder likeable and the storyline makes me want to pull my hair out in frustration. I am 100% lying, of course. I imagined a definition of the twilight saga out of the norm might grab people's attention. The Bücher are brilliant, god bless Stephanie Meyer.
I'd heard of the Bücher a while back, being quite the geek and spending abit of time on the old, reliable imdb, and I read that Robert Pattinson was starring in a film called 'Twilight'. Seeing a ten Sekunde Vorschau of the trailer made me curious, and I asked my friend to order me the book online. (I don't like giving my details out online, completely irrelevent, but whatever)

And wow , what a read. I was well and truely hoked. Being written in first person narrative, naturally, the reader can relate to bella in many ways. Meyer purposely presented Bella as an ordinary, average girl, making an intense, strong connection between her character and the reader.
This was the case in Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse.

What I enjoyed most was how realistic the text seemed, although the storylines were completely unrealistic. Unless Du have become so absorbed in the Bücher that Du believe Du are a vampire, have werewolf Friends and live in a town called Forks, then this won't apply to you. I digress, but I bet someone out there believes this... I shudder to think.
Anyway, this realistic presentation made it addictive to me, actually feeling part of the narrative and becoming fixated with this intriguing relationship between a human and a vampire.
So I whizzed through the first three books, eager to read the last.

And then everything seems to change in Breaking Dawn.

First off, when the story began hinting at Bella's pregnancy, my first thought was 'What the..' How bizzare! She wants to keep some vampire esque spawn which is killing her and breaks her ribs when ever it kicks, whilst the others watch has she drinks blood to keep it alive (Although in the first book we all witnessed how bella passes out at the faintest sign of blood). But it really did seem to... work
And I personally believe that's because of the narrative change over to Jacob.

She got her wish of becoming immortal, and yet again I thought, the relationship that myself and thousands of others have eagerly read about has now dramatically changed. And yet, we would complain if she didn't get her wish of becoming a vampire, and she lived to an old ripe age (which would be sickening as her hubby would remain the tnder age of 17). So therefore, Meyer made the right choice again.

I took a moment to giggle at Edward's wild antics in the sack. Tearing pillows, wrecking head units and bruising his missus; awkward yet comical. And the same reaction when Jacob imprinted on their daughter. There was me, feeling uncomfortable because a fictional character had 'imprinted' on a fictional, half-human half-vampire, mind reading, fluent in speech, few months old child. Bizzare.

And the ending. Although I secretly wanted a fight to break out, everyone loves a bit of chaos and destruction from time to time, I'm sure people were relieved that everything was dandy; Bella and Edward getting their happy ending. It also left it with an open ending, so who knows, Meyer might decide to do another book in a few years time.

I'm aware this wasn't much of a review, Mehr of a discussion between me, myself and I, but if anyone actually reads this, I want to ask Du guys something:

Do Du think doing a fourth film would actually work?
I know there are some hardcore Fans out there, I really enjoy the Bücher myself, but would the film be as successful with the imprinting, the pregnancy, even the marriage...? Even though I thought the marriage was presented brilliantly.
Their seems to be a bit of criticism about the fourth book, I'd like to hear other people's thoughts about it.

burgundyeyes i think that doing the fourth movie wouldn't be a good idea. i mean, try to cast a little girl of about perhaps 3 to 5 years old, that has bronze hair, chocolate eyes (cuz i don't think the girl would actually put eye contacts), pale skin, and that speaks and seems more mature than the other children of her age. but that's not all. she grows a LOT during the whole book. but you can't change actors during the film. that's going to be very hard. SM said so herself. and the book is really long, so the director has to squeeze a 700 page, or so, book into a 2h movie. a tough job another thing is, i'm not sure if the people who haven't read the book but see the movie would like it either. BD's story was quite weird, considering the pregnancy and the imprinting. and people would expect a battle at the end. a big build up during the whole movie just for a peacful talk at the end? hmm not the best movie to come out, even though twilight fans might still go see it.

vampfriend yeah i agree w/ burgundy eyes it would be really hard and but the 4th book i have read 7 times >3

Leanne123 That's what I was thinking. Fair enough, it has a cult audience, but unlike twilight, were people who haven't read the books could easily watch the film, understand and enjoy it, BD wouldn't attract these kind of viewers. I'm not sure whether the current actors would want to do it either, only having signed up for the trilogy.

twilightttt87 i agree with you, although people who have read it would love the film, appreciating the build up and glad that there was no fight, other people wouldnt be too pleased. people need to read the books and then all the films can be made!!!!!

mandapanda i agree about making it into a movie. Alot of people had an issue of Twilight not following the book, which I personally thought it did follow, and that was only 500+ pages. The thought of a 700 pg into a 109-120 screenplay... that's disastrous. The writers wouldn't be able to make everyone happy. And I agree about the story as well. The storyline was a bit strange.

Twicutie I agree w/the above comments. The movie would be boring and many fans would be displeased because it didn't follow the book; Renesmee would be impossible to film and the actors might not sign up for it.

Phaedra I do not believe a movie would be boring, I just think it would be far too difficult to film. There are too many elements in it that make filming it quite the challenge. Of course, I'd love it if the book were to be made into a movie, but I'm not sure it would turn out very good. I'd prefer the movie series to end at eclipse in that case, because then we still have our own, unspoilt idea of everyone in BD. I mean... there are so many new characters in it, and a Vampire Bella. Ever since I read New Moon, I feared that they could never make the Volturi look the way they ought to look. I have the same feeling about the vampires that enter the Breaking Dawn-book, only so much stronger. Indeed, Renesmee alone makes the book that much harder to film, but she's not the only reason for that. (I get the idea that I'm writing this rather messy, so I'm going to stop at this xD)

renrae Because Stephenie Meyer TOTALLY knows how CGI works. And she totally knows that it is impossible to double cast. And it's totally impossible to sub-voices. And the kid only needs red hair and brown eyes: not too hard to find, no? That was about 90% sarcasm, people.

Edwardsfiance Well, a movie for this book would definitly NOT come close to how fantabulous the book is. When you read the book, u have a picture in your mind of bella and edwards cottage, bella, edward and renessmee themselves, and the "love scene." So far in twilight, robert Pattinson REALLY dissapointed me as an Edward But there HAS to be a movie, just to see the sad attempt and laugh at it. Also, u cant come out with a series of movies and only show 3 out of 4.

renessy i think that any point against renesmee is easily solved have someone older still a child but older she'll still look like an immortal child

twilightgrl101 The books are great, but i agree that the movie would be almost impossible. It's a little anoying because the other two movies were really good, and i bet that eclipse will be realy good too. but there is a small chance that Breaking Dawn will be that good.

I honestly didn't hate it, but i was dissappointed. The whole thing read like fanfiction to me: cute, but not the conclusion i wanted to hear for my beloved Bella and Edward. The wedding/honeymoon business was very cute. i really loved it. The Sekunde Carlisle sagte Bella was pregnant my herz just sank. How could SM do that to me?

I turned the page to see Jacob's perspective, *groan*. I like Jacob, but i didn't want to spend the final installment of the twilight saga in the mind of "what could have been". Surprisingly enough, Jacob was quite funny and i enjoyed his part a lot. I thought it was...
