Turning my back on Harry, opening my arms for Edward

Out with the old.......

So I've been a huge, HUGE, huge Harry Potter since I was twelve. Before that I was a huge Series of Unfortuante Events fan. Now I feel like I'm becoming a huge Twilight fan. But it's making me feel guilty. I feel as if I'm betraying J.K. Rowling even though I know it sounds ridiculous. I've only read Twilight so far and I really liked it. Not better than Harry Potter though. But now the movie is coming out and I feel myself getting really hype over it. I don't want to turn my back on Harry because I truly do Liebe those books. It just gets harder to continue to be a Harry Potter Fan since the series is over and most of the Filme have already been made. There isn't much for me to get hype about. When I read that Harry Potter was knocked off the New York Times Bestseller Liste I felt kind of sad but also a little happy that Twilight became number one. I want to like Twilight but I'll just feel kinda bad inside that I left behind Harry. I did write earlier in the Harry Potter spot that one Tag we will be blessed with another series that will take over our lives and enchant us just like Harry. I believe Twilight is that series. It's wonderfully written and has everything Harry Potter had but something a little extra. I'm sure I'll be able to Liebe both Bücher eventually. But for now I think I'll sneak out on Harry and spend my days with Edward

Sinner21 I feel the same way I started reading the HP books when I was 11. I grew up with them just like caintil31. I think the Twilight books are kinda like a step from...... not childish ideas in Harry Potter...... but the child friendly ideas. The Twilight series is centered on romance and fatal attraction which is more likely to interest you when you get older than the kinda diluted romance storylines in HP. So don't feel guilty you're not the only one to have been converted!!!

funnyshawna i know, i feel the same way sometimes, but not as much. i have room in my heart for all my favorite books/characters. i love them all equally, just sometimes i love one more than the other. it depends on the day or week or sometimes month. like just recently i reread all the harry potter books, so i got my harry potter fix that way. then last week i had this overwhelming urge to read twilight so i did. then i read eclipse, then twilight, then eclipse, then i bought new moon and read that, then twilight again, then new moon, then eclipse:) so you see what i mean:)

Edward901 i was reading a different series than this one, i had the hots for the bad guy and then the series ended with a TERRIBLE ending that i did NOT like... long story short, i lost my love for edward b/c i wasn't thinking about twilight AT ALL, so i read the twilight series again... it happens to everyone... the best guy always traps you, so you kinda feel like your cheating on a character...

kateliness2 I kind of agree. I do like this series, but I find Harry Potter to be much more well written and I like the characters a lot better. I still feel a bit guilty liking it though ;)

Kroshka09 I know how you feel ... because i usedto be a big fan of harry... but when i reached the 5th book,,, i said its too mych! I have a feeling these books of harry will go all the way up to him becoming a grandfather...and thats when i moved on to twilight... and u should to... I mean it actually has action and exactly what teens whant...ADVENTURE! in harry books its all about people trying to kill harry and he always survives no matter what and to me it is so old....no action at all. So gurl dont feel guilty just move one

Wounded-Soul this is sad. THIS makes me violently ill. How can you think that Twilight has idea's that are in the least bit, as good as Harry Potter? A little extra...? And what is that extra? Pedophilia? Sexual abuse? Over controlling boyfriends? Women who think their lives are over when their (sparkly) man(Gay boy) leaves them? no. just no. And you guys think that Harry Potter is childish? How is it childish? caring about your friends, and willing to give your lives for them is bad now? Oh i get it, it's because Bella doesn't give a flying shit about hers..and anything that is apposing views in twilight is WRONG. Now I know I shouldn't come in the Twilight section just to criticize...but I did it anyways...so get over it, and don't go crazy when you read this..because you should know it's true.
