This sire bond isn't real at all.
Why Caroline and Vicki didn't had any problems? Caroline tortured Damon a bit(hitting him with every Wand possible) and Vicki almost killed Elena, and others(which C'mon would happen if there was a sire bond), and both were turned Von Damon's blood. And I think there are many others examples that we can use. Again I repeat, this is first time in the show, and many people were turned there, when "there's" a vampire sire bond. Another example can be Jenna, which was turned Von Klaus, and there was no sire bond, because Jenna fought against Klaus.
Pure and Simple, becoming a vampire, everything Elena felt for Damon went bigger. And because the Stelena broke-up almost existed since Stefan left in S2-S3, the feelings for Stefan couldn't grow up as much as the feeling for Damon did.
IT DOESN'T EXIST AT ALL. I repeat no sire bond.

In the season 4 episode 7 Caroline sagte to Stefan"You and Elena are epic; Elena and Damon are blah"
That is so discouraging for me... All this time I have waited for Elena and Damon to be together, but in the episodes last part my dream turned to dust, sire bond, everybody being against them together, obviously the scenarists don't think that they should be together in the end. but still I hope for Elena to tell Damon she loves him after the sire bond being broken. Stefan is a bit pathetic from my point of view, he is either too serious oder being a ripper, oder being so insentitive to Elena and turning Jeremy into a real vampire hunter, whose instinct is to kill everyone from their kind, therefore making it imposible for Elena to be a sister, the only family, for him.

Katherine hurried to the tomb and opened it. “Get out” she sagte to the weak Bonnie, who was lying close to the door. Katherine grabbed her hand and Bonnie shrieked. It was the hand with the hurt finger. “Come on, get out. I need to Bewegen you” Katherine sagte agitated. She dragged her out of the tomb, ignoring her cries.
But as soon as Bonnie was out of the tomb Katherine felt two hands on her shoulders that pushed her forward. She fell and turned around to see Caroline helping Bonnie stand up. “What the hell are Du doing?” she asked. Caroline looked up. “I can ask Du the same question” she fired back. She bit her wrist and forced Bonnie to drink, so her wounds would heal. “Come on, I’ll bring Du home”
“Where is that?” Bonnie asked depressed.
