Clark has had feelings for Lana for a long time. At the beginning of the series, Lana dated Whitney Fordman and wore a kryptonite necklace, preventing Clark from coming near her without feeling its effects. Throughout season one, Clark's feelings grew for her, and a tentative friendship blossomed. Lana continued to datum Whitney however.

There was tension between Clark and Whitney, and noticing their friendship, Whitney suspected Clark's feelings for Lana....

In 1989, when Lex was 9 years old, Lionel took him to Smallville on a business trip at the insistence of his mother. Fatefully, they arrived on the Tag of the Meteor Shower. The meteorites seemingly cured Lex's asthma but caused him to go bald, in addition to apparently super-charging his immune system. Lex has not been sick since.

Lex's brother Julian was born when Lex was eleven years old (c. 1991). Their mother Lillia suffocated Julian in early infancy during a bout of severe post-partum depression. Lex discovered the murder and took the blame, fearing his father would harm his mother but...

Lionel was born to Scottish immigrants Lachlan and Eliza Luthor. Lionel was born in Suicide Slums, and Lionel's father allegedly abused him when growing up. Lionel conspired with morgan Edge to kill his parents to collect the insurance money to fund his future and LuthorCorp. Their criminal dealings, continued well into their adult years after their lives have taken divergent turns, as seen in the episodes Phoenix and Shattered. Trivia
Lois began smoking when she was 15, but she had quit Von the time she arrived in Smallville (although she was now addicted to nicotine gum instead). Currently, she seems to have kicked both habits.
Lois' mother might have died of lung cancer; when Clark expresses his condolences, she remarks that it's not anybody's fault her mother started smoking in high school.
Lois has dated both Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley) and Arthur curry (Alan Ritchson). Both of these actors have portrayed Ritchson's character of Arthur Curry/Aquaman.
Lois is the current tenant in the apartment above the Talon....
