Oh yeah, Walburga Black hated her son with a deep dark passion. It wasn't just disappointment, it was a psychotic hatred. She was a Pure-Blood Supremist, she disowned Sirius, so to her he was nothing Mehr than Muggle-loving scum. In fact, she disowned her own brother Alphard because he left Sirius gold, and she blasted him off the Family baum just as she did Sirius. Sick, sick woman.

i agree if she didn't hate him we would have seen him on the Wand along with the rest of the pure-blood family that stayed true to the dark lord
I don't think she actually "hated" him. A mother cannot hate her son. I think she was just disappointed that he didn't follow the Black tradition and beliefs and later, the fact that he ran away from home.

Hate might be too strong of a word to describe how she felt towards her son, Sirius.
I think disappointment and embarrassment might be better words. She wanted her sons to carry on the Black legacy. She wanted them to Zeigen that Von becoming Death Eaters, I think. Sirius, obviously, did not do that. He went against everything the Black family had believed and there was no way he was turning his back on his beliefs. She had raised him to think differently - She must have been disappointed when he turned out a way she didn't want him to be.
And why would she be embarrassed? Sirius was a Gryffindor - The first one ever in the Black family. Everyone would have expected him to follow in the families footsteps, and be put in Slytherin.
I think she disowned him, because she was too proud to admit her son turned out in a way she didn't want. I don't think she ever hated him; A mother loves their child no matter what & I think she did too, but she wouldn't let it show.

Yeah, she just didn't want other people to think that she had raised him the way he turned out.
Ohhh yeahhhh. Sirius' mother hated his guts. I think that's why I like him so much: I can relate to him. She loved him before he got sorted into Gryffindor, but once he did, bye-bye to the black family.
I think she did hate him. I feel bad for him. I mean sure he sagte he hated his mother and he proably did, but Im sure that tere is a part of him that wished that his mother had cared.
yeah, of course she did! she blasted him off her family tree, and when he told her portrait to shut up, her eyes popped with rage and she called him a creature of filth and a something-or-other of her flesh... I think it was an abomination of her flesh... so yeah, his mum did hate him... stupid old hag, this is Sirius, for god's sake! merlin's beard, how could Du POSSIBLY hate Sirius? bloody idiot... must've had a brain disorder!
