This is the Institute in Brooklyn. It is an old gothic cathedral that is run by the Lightwoods. The Lightwoods live in the Institute full time but others can live there if they are approved to by the Lightwoods. Only Shadowhunters can open the doors.

Alexa walked out of her bedroom, pulling the ties of her silk robe tight around her waist. She walked down the hall and went to the kitchen to start breakfast.

"Of course. My sons, James and Bennitt, will show you to the weapons room." Bayile turned away and walks a little ways down the hall. "Bennitt! James!"

James and Bennitt walked down the hall, James on Bennitt's shoulder.

"I need you to show this young woman to the weapons room."

Bennitt nodded once. "Of course, Mother."

Elain stepped inside. "Thank you." She took another weary stop further into the house. Entering th belly of the beast. I never thought I'd be so desperate as to come in here.

Bennitt turned and walked towards the weapons room.

Elain followed quietly, thnking her thoughts quietly in her head. They've no idea what the knife is for. This place is beautiful, but I'd much rather be in my shit-car. Thinking of which, I need a new one. Heehees.

Baylie led her to a room with large wooden furniture. It looked like every other room in the Institute that wasn't already being used. "You can change the room to your liking."

Bennitt opened the door to the weapons room and set James down. He looked at Elain. "What kind of weapon do you need?"

Bennitt nodded then walked over to the wall with many knives hung on it.

James reached over by the door and grabbed a jewel-headed cane. He walked with the cane, going over to Bennitt.

Bayile nodded once then walked down the hall to the kitchen. "Alexa? It's quite early for you, isn't it?" She said with a smile.
"Yes Mom, very funny. I'm doing you the favor of making breakfast."
"Good. Your father and I are going to meet with the Enclave. We'll be back sometime later on tonight. We have a new girl staying here so I hope you will be nice."
"Of course."

Elain took one of the knives and slit her wrist. She cleaned it off on her shirt and handed it back. "Thank you for your time. I'll escort myself out." She turned on her heel and walked out.

James blinked at looked at Bennitt in confusion.

"Wait here." Bennitt followed after her. "Hey." He stopped her. "Take it." He held out the knife.

Bennitt went back to the weapons room and picking up James. He walked from the room, the large doors closing behind him. "Are you feeling okay?"

James nodded. "I felt better after a good sleep. My head doesn't hurt anymore."

"That's good. You'll be completly fine soon."

Bayile walked out of the Institute with her husband.

Elain climbed into her car and laid her knees against the wheel. "I cannot believe I went in there. The place disgusts me." She took the tip of the knife and pushed it into her finger.

Elain looked up, at least an hour later. "Shit. I'm still here." She rubbed her right index finger on her shirt already stained with blood from the knife. She looked around for the key. "Oh, yay. Probably dropped it in there. Great."

James walked into the foyer (sp???) and sat down on a large couch. He set his cane down beside him. He didn't get why he had to use it. He wasn't limping anymore. But his parents and siblings didn't want to take any chances.

She took a step back. "Damn, you're tall. I left my key in here and I can't start my car. I mean, I could if I wanted to, but I really don't feel like hotwiring it right now. Google is a scary place. I found out how to break into my car and hot wire it."

Bennitt moved with the amazing speed of all Shadowhunter, pressing his hand against the door, holding it closed and blocking her from the other one with his body. "And how exactly would you know me? Just because my parents run the Institute?"
