I don't get the appeal of it, or why it gets more recognition than the "pop" music of other countries, such as J-pop.

^Is there that big of a difference from J-Pop and K-Pop? I never really noticed. I just dont tend to find the sound of the songs in J-Pop as good as K-Pop really. But if its fair, J-Rock is better than K-Pop. *loves Asian-language Pop*

K-Pop is great. XD Its one of my favored genres *listens to a bit of a lot of things*

I like a few K-pop songs, but it's never been something that I've gotten into listening to a bunch.

There really isn't a big difference other than the language that it's in. I also feel like K-pop is more about the choreography. But yeah as Riku said Japan gets more recognition in the rock department the K-rock does. Also back in the 90's (I think) J-pop was the in thing, K-pop kind of came along and took it's place. It's really no different than American pop pretty much dominating everything...

K-pop and J-rock are in my top 5 genres after Symphonic Metal/Folk Metal and Witch House.

They are more blurred into general areas. All I know is that Symphonic Metal is the number one.

We really do lol. Frankly I like a bit of everything too really, I don't discriminate! We ain't discriminate. That makes sense; honestly to me music is music--if it's good I like it. And there are so many blurry areas; like techno and trace...trip hop and jumpstyle...and what not. And then there are genres that have influence from other genres. But yeah Symphonic Metal is totally the best, it's my favorite. My goal is to see the big three in concert.

@Zanhar I would have to say though that there are a few genres that are a bit less liked though I cant say theres a genre I dont like. For example, country is probably one of my least favorites, but I still have songs from that genre as well.

As for favorite band? ..... Ooh...... thats a hard one XD For the english music I dont have much of the bands and musics tied completely yet but ones I have quite a liking to are (both including and excluding symphonic metal but still staying in metal-rock variations) Black Veil Brides, Within Temptation, Nightwish, and Epica. As for JRock, Versailles/Kamijo and Gazette rule. I think Within Temptation is also my favorite of the English symphonic metals

Hey Zanhar, am I the only one that finds it so difficult to focus and find enough about one specific band when there are thousands of genres with thousands of bands/artists to look at? XD Having a wide taste in music is such a time consuming thing.

Yeah I have those as well. Like I don't really like flat out opera that much with few exceptions. I'm pretty picky about rap too. With country it's hit or miss; I either like it or I don't. But I do have some songs from those three that I like.

Right! There are so many good ones. I love me some BVB as well. I'm gonna be seeing Epica in concert (if all goes as planned) so excited. Already saw WT, they are so wonderful live. You ever hear Delain? They're my second favorite. The band was started by a former WT member. Oh, the Gazette is amazing, Dir En Grey is great too. I'm also into Dazzle Vision and Born too. I've only heard some Versailles. :P Good, good, WT is the shit!

No you aren't lol. I did direct my focus into listening to all of the main Symphonic Metal bands (WT, Nightwish, Epica, Sirenia, Delain, Leaves Eyes, etc.). As well as bands like Pretty Reckless, Mind In A Box, and such. But there are just so many good bands that I pick up a few songs by them but then find a new one and eventually get back to the first.
