I think of them critically for the most part,as long they are at least not the type of unlikable when it doesn't help the character critically at all.

Subjectively,as long as I like them emotionally then it doesn't really effect my enjoyment of the character otherwise.

I'm probably the only person here who will viciously hate a character for killing a dog and even the entire show for daring to let it happen.

I am with zan on this. There's far too many aspects to look at while judging to see if you like said character.

Well, I do know, but this was the best choice for me to use. I just like a character based on many things and it really depends on who the character is and how they tie in to the story. I do sometimes dislike characters for emotional reasons, take Envy from FMA (Zanhar will know why I hate him and what for) and Akainu from One Piece are the two main ones. But, in saying that, there are characters whom I think of critically, but still like certain aspects of, like Aizen from Bleach. There are just so many characters out there, that I just need to watch the series and find out for myself when I decide whether I like them or not.
