What starter should I get for Pokemon Blue?

A Charmander named Dowie? Ok, Du don't have to nickname it that.. I come up with the oddest Pokemon nicknames.. ^^'

i would chose charmander because he is awsome but the best choice would be bulbasaure because he kicks the gym leaders butts LOL good luck
