It could mean one of two things I guess,
First he might've been dared too oder he could really like Du and after he kissed Du he might've felt awkward and stood Von someone else and didn't say anything to Du because he might think that Du dont like him.
Figure out if Du like him, first of all, then talk to him about it and say that everyone's been telling Du that he likes Du and Du just wanna find out if it's true.
