In this forum I will give you a step by step icon editing...something. I use corel paintshop and picmonkey.

3) Adding effects with Picmonkey.

Effect 1: Click the pumpkin at the bottom on your left. Click Vampire. Click Nosferatu Dawn. Blacks: 40%, Fade: 30%

This is what you get if you used corel paintshop in the beginning.

As you can see there's not much difference whether you've used Corel Paintshop in the beginning or whether you started with Picmonkey right away.
