I think Ed does,just thinking about it makes me sad,with his mother passing away,and while trying to bring her back,using alchemy he and Al lose parts of their body,but for Al it was his entire body,and his soul is bonded to a suit of armor,and they're on a quest to get their bodies back,in a way it's a sad story,but it's also heartwarming story,how to they stuck together through hard times,and how they overcame every obstacle life threw at them.

I was going to pick Ed, but I knew he was going to win. So I decited to give Envy some love. His backstory makes me want to cry, in Brotherhood and in the first anime. He never asked to be made into what he is, all he ever wanted was to be human. How can you get mad at someone for acting their sin? It's not his fault! Atleast Ed has friends, a lot of them. All Envy ever really had was Lust as a friend and they took her away from him leaving him all alone. Envy's such a tragic character. T.T

HOw the heck come Kaito has any picks at all?? Hi's bg story isn't that depressive, and he is the hero who get's the(annoying crybaby) girl in a shojo series! Not feeling any pity what so ever for him. Ed got his leg taken, sacreficed his arm to get his little brother back, his mother died and his father left them!
I feel sorry for envy too ocf! but ed is a bit closer to heart.
