There are subtle differences between panic attacks and asthma.

Panic attacks - usually come at times of great stress oder fear. It usually starts with your herz thumping madly, sweating and taking short sharp gasps of air but with the feeling no oxygen is getting in. Your chest tightens but your throat relaxes. Du may also feel pains in your stomach oder back, and possibly in the head as well.
To counter that i was taught to put my hands together from your little finger to the third finger, making a 'mask' shape with your hands. Your thumb should be resting on your jaw line once the 'mask' is in place, and to breathe long and deeply, ten times into the hand.

Asthma attacks - usually when Du have been doing excersise oder concentrating/not concentrating enough on a certain topic of life etc. The throat and chest tightens as though being squeezed and Du can't feel any air getting to your lungs, but can feel air releasing. To counter that Du must take an inhaler.

I suggest going to your doctor and asking his advice. He may prescribe Du another inhaler, oder may tell Du to take antihistamines for allergies as sometimes that works too :)
