I think what happened was that Random, and Fanpop in general, became a little pond with a lot of big fish. For a while, in about the time period that you're talking about, there was a major Zufällig hierarchy, a bit like the Victorian Era, actually. There were well known and well respected users, people who weren't as well known but still well liked, people who weren't well known, and trolls. (I think I was part of the well-known-well-liked users tier.. I'm not real certain. I think I probably was for a while...?) The oben, nach oben two tiers- the well liked- pushed out the lesser-known people, it seemed. Sometimes people got a bit territorial, I think, and Du had to fit in to that spectrum of people to get recognised and respected. People who didn't fall in to the spectrum got pushed out- sometimes on accident, sometimes intentionally. Unfortunately, some of the lesser-known people were the backbone of Random, and kept it going. There had usually been a a flow of these people coming and going, but eventually, it slowed until Mehr people were going than there were coming. And with that, a lot of activity died down, too. Also, there have been a lot- a lot- of incidents of trolling on Zufällig throughout its history, which also chased out several people. When that happened, the upper tier groups didn't have much to stand on, and after a while, things started to fall apart and get boring, so a lot of people started leaving; they migrated to places with Mehr action. It was a combination of things, ultimately, and to be honest, it makes me sad. I've been on Zufällig for a while- since 2009, really- and it holds a special place in my heart, even though I don't get on here at all often any more. But I don't think Random, oder even Fanpop in general, will ever have what used to be here again. At least, not unless there is an influx of users to breathe some life in to it.
