I can still remember the first time I saw her. The penguins had introduced us and I knew that when I layed my eyes on her that I loved her. We had been good Friends for awhile, and she had even let me stay with her in her habitat so I wouldn't get caught Von Officer X. I loved her, and I decided to let her know it. Every weekend, us Tiere had fireworks to let go because the humans werent coming in. I had borrowed some 'special' ones from Rico and him and the other penguins were going to let it go last. "Hey Max! I Liebe Sundays, don't you?" Marlene asked me. "Yea, I Liebe all of the sparks." I said, anxiety rising. "Yea, I Liebe all of the diffrent Farben the best. Oh, wait! There starting." Marlene sagte as the first firework went up. It was a gorgeus moment as the red sparks lit up the night. The crowd was full of 'ohhhs' and 'ahhhs'. The fireworks all went up, one Von one, reflecting in Marlenes eyes. I smiled at her while a purple one went up that really looked beutifull. My paws were getting sweaty as I knew it was just a matter of time untill the penguins let off the 'special' fireworks. After they were all done and the Tiere thought it was over, a loud rumbling filled the night air. Then my fireworks shined bright green in the night. They sagte a simple sentance: 'Marlene, will Du go out with Mark?' "Wait, who the heck is Mark?" Max thought to himself in disbelief. "Sorry everybody, that was supposed to say Max." Kowalski yelled from atop the clock tower. Marlene looked at me and sagte "Is this true?" "Yes..." I sagte nervouslly. Marlene showed her approval with a kiss.

"Oh man, why did I do this?" I asked the penguins in the HQ. I was very nervous. "Well, even though Skipper may not agree, I do." Private sagte "But what if something goes wrong?" I asked. Kowalski walked over and slapped me hard. "Get ahold of yourself man! This will all go perfectlly." He sagte shaking me Von the shoulders. "Right." I sagte not wanting another slap. At that time Marlene jumped in through the fisch bowl entrance. "Are Du ready Max?" She asked. "Yea, now I am." I sagte climbing up the ladder and exiting, Marlene at my heels. "He won't get away with this..." Skipper sagte in the lab.

Marlene and Max had went to a fancy restaurant called 'The Place'. "Well, this is beutifull." Marlene sagte motioning to the chandeliers and water fountains. "Yea, I come here alot." I sagte as the waiter took us to our table. "Really?" She asked. "Yea, I have connections. My cousin Marcus owns the place." I answered. "Well that's really cool." Marlene sagte putting down her menu, ready to order. "Hello, I will be your waiter tonight." A German Husky sagte in a heavy accent. "Are Du ready to order?" "Yes, thank you. I would like to oyster stew." Marlene said. "I'll have the tuna." I said. "O.K, I will be right back with your orders." He sagte leaving to the kitchean. Skipper had snuck in the back, unnoticead Von anyone. He had followed Max and Marlene here and had come up with a number of plans to mess with Max. He made his way to the water brunnen closest to where they sat. He pulled out some tools and began messing with a few of the nuts and bolts. He looked up when the waiter sagte "Here Du go, enjoy." He had some time to waste so he just sat and obsearved Max and Marlene. Max ate with furocity while Marlene ate with such grace. When Max had finished, Skipper had finished his 'preparations' with the fountain. "That was good." I said. "Yea, it was." Marlene sagte finishing up. There was a stragne rumbling and the whole restaurant got quiet. "What is tha-" I started but was cut off Von an extreame jet of water that shot me to the wall. I was just sitting there, and then all went dark. When I awoke, I was in the waiting area. "What happened?" I asked. "The brunnen went haywire." Marlene answered. "I'm so sorry Max." A voice said. I loooked around and saw Marcus. "Oh, it's O.K." I sagte drying off. "No, it's not. The meal is free." Marcus said. "Really?" I asked. "Really." Was his reply. "Thanks." Marlene sagte as he got up to leave. "No problam, just come back soon." He sagte as we left. "We will!" We both sagte as we walked out.

We went to the Filme to see 'Date Night'. "I hear it's good." Marlene sagte a we bought tickets. "Yea, so have I." I sagte as we went to find our seats. We decided to sit in the back. After the previews and all of the other crap Du must go through before the movie starts, the most boring movie I had ever seen started playing. I saw Marlene was really into the movie so I decided to take a nap. I just leaned my head to the side and closed my eyes. ... "That was so good!" Marlene sagte as the credit's rolled. "Yea, that was great!" I sagte trying to look awake. "Do Du mind waiting for me while I go use the bathroom?" Marlene asked. "Yea, no problam." I said. "Thanks." She said, kissed me on the cheek, and walked to the bathroom. "Wow." I sagte stunned. While I had my paw on my cheek, a net caught me. "Having fun?" A voice said. "Skipper?" I asked looking around. "Yea, Marlene is mine and nobody elses." He sagte picking up the net and dragging me to a closet. "Skipper, let me out." I sagte as Skipper pulled out a tranquilizer gun. "Nope." He sagte and shot me. ... "What?" I sagte waking up and looking around. "OH CRAP! MARLENE!" I sagte hacking through the net with my claws. I made my way out of the building and looked around. "Oh crap..." I sagte as I saw Skipper and Marlene making out. "Marlene, I'm sorry Max left you." Skipper said. "I just can't believe he did it..." Marlene said. "Well, I didn't!" I sagte grabbing the tranquilzer gun. "Max!" Marlene sagte hugging me. "Well, apparantlly I should have used and extra dose. No matter, I can fix that... Where's it at?" Skipper sagte looking for the gun. "What? This?" I sagte pulling it out. "Max, do it." Marlene sagte with enthusiasm. "Now Max, don't do something you'd regret!" Skipper sagte holding up his flippers in defiance. "Oh, I won't regret this." I sagte shooting Skipper. He fell with a thud. "Max, I'm sorry." Marlene said. "It's O.K." I sagte looking over the gun. It suddenlly went off and we heard a thud. We turned and saw a squirll. "Fred?" Marlene said. "Sorry Fred!" I sagte as me and Marlene walked away from the snoring pinguin and squirll.

Kowalski descended down the ladder into the penguin’s HQ, having just gotten Skipper to confess one of his deepest secrets. His vision panned from one side to the other, scanning the inside for the other penguins.

Rico was sitting in the corner as usual, brushing his doll’s hair and cooing at her. Seeing thing brought a smile to Kowalski’s face. Even though he thought of their relationship as weird, it was still kinda cute to see Rico act like that and Kowalski couldn’t help but smile at the manic bird.

His eyes continued to pan until they fell upon Private. The youngster was sitting...

Rico missed his doll.

He missed the plastic female that was always just the right size for a warm hug; her long, blonde hair, her silent and mysterious personality. She was probably the only one that truly understood the lonely penguin. Everyone else seemed to just judge him; but not her. She accepted Rico for who he was, and nothing more. She never argued with him, and she always allowed Rico to have the first word in everything. If only there were Mehr women like her.

But there wasn’t; only her…

This was all very stupid. Pointless. Irritating. Depressing. Frustrating.

Rico could think of...

Note To Self,

Tonight, Skipper decided to avert our attention from the gloomy situation Von screening a variety of films. The majority of which included documentaries of different sorts of animals. Skipper seemed to have skipped the penguins’ film. I can’t blame him. The contents of that video were horrid beyond belief. Anyway, Rico appears to be well. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has already started to feel at Home with Marlene. I can’t very well say the same for me, though. I miss him. But, I’ve also discovered something about our relationship. I admit that my actions towards him...

Damn it!

This was the peak of things…

It was time to confront this lust that had yet to take flight. But how would he do it? Kowalski couldn’t simply step out and say it!

Say what?

What would he even say?! Should he say anything? It seemed to work well for Rico!

This was much too difficult than it should have been. Why was it so damn hard?!

It was his fault; this ridiculous, complicated process of thought. This would never work out; he and Rico. They were so different from one another. He had often heard that opposites were Mehr likely to feel attracted to one another, but this was going crossing...

“I’m sorry, Skippa…‘fraid I can’t remember…” Private whispered with his head low. The small pinguin had received quite a waking that morning. He didn’t even have enough time to leave his bunk when Skipper and Kowalski confronted him. As promised, Skipper hadn’t asked a single Frage about Private’s disappearance and injury until now.

“C’mon, Private, Du can’t really expect us to believe that!” Skipper narrowed his eyes with a frown spreading across his beak.

The timid pinguin shyly moved to sit on the edge of his bunk, his head retaining its low position. From the...
