Note: Hey, peeps! I hope Du are enjoying this story. I have really enjoyed Schreiben this story. It gets really sad, and I even teared up typing this. Thanks so much for reading. Du guys rock! ;) I'd appreciate some Kommentare this time. Thanks so much!

A man stepped in the room, a whip and two muzzles in his hands. Cracking the whip, he sent all the penguins running, expect for Rico who just gain consciussness. The man lashed Rico's back and Rico turned to growl, but the man lashed at him more. Rico pounced up trying to attack the foe. Instead of reaching his objective, Rico was seized and hushed Von a muzzle. The employee left the room with Rico.
P: "Poor, Rico!"
K: "It's alright, Private. He's not going to hurt Du again."
P: "I don't care! I just want him to be okay."
K: "He'll be okay, I promise."
Once again the door opened, and the man returned.
P: "Why is he back?! He already took Rico!"
K: "I don't know, but whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it's not good for us."
The man stared directly at Private smiling a toothless grin. Trampling penguins both old and young, he went after Private and Kowalski. They hid in a crowd.
P: "Kowalski, he wants me! I can't risk your safety any longer! I'll be fine!"
K: "No! Stay here and keep quiet!"
Just then screams echoed through the room.
?: "It's Ripper!"
A dog stalked through the crowd.
K: "Get behind me,"
Private stood petrified watching the dog nip at penguins and Suchen for him. Also, Private felt a sense of guilt. He was the reason Ripper was inflicting terror upon these penguins. It was all his fault.
K: "Now, Private!"
Kowalski couldn't wait anymore. He shoved Private behind him. The terrier approached him snarling. They were doomed! The canine must have picked up Private's smell, and fear. Private's herz beat rapidly in his chest. If he stayed the dog would catch him and probably hurt Kowalski, but if he left....
The dog was only a few feet away. Private had made his final decision. He took off sprinting. The dog's prey driven eyes followed him and soon the dog did the same. Kowalski yelled after him, terror in his voice.
Private managed to stay hidden for only Sekunden before the dog found him again. He scurried across the room and ended trapped in the dog's ambush. It was hiding in wait for Private to unsuspectingly race Von him, so he could pounce on the helpless penguin, retreiving him for his master. The dog scooped Private up and shook him around as fiercely as he could and chomped his jaws on him, breaking some skin. The dog plopped Private at its master's feet, wagging its tail pleading desperately for a treat. Kowalski raced toward the man carrying Private away, but before he was even in Private's sight the man left, once again for the final time.
K: "Oh, Skipper, please come quickly."
Skipper led the zoosters through the drafty streets of New York. They finally made it. Skipper was ready to meet his destiny, regain Private's trust, and most importantly save his team. A part of his herz stung. What if his soldier still hated him? Unfortunately, Skipper wouldn't blame him. Much worse imagination entered his mind. What if his "Young Private" had ....... not made it? He couldn't think of that. It was just too sickening. He remembered the nasty quarrel and thought about how much is words had scarred.
"Remember how we met? If I hadn't risked my life to save Du from those seals, you'd be dead!" His scornful Kommentare filtered back into his head. How he made his tiny soldier break down and weep. All his rage bubbling to the surface.
He closed his eyes, not feeling well.
M: "Are Du alright, Skipper?"
S: "I just need a moment .... I need to clear my head."
They had made the journey and Skipper still wasn't ready. Heading behind a dumpster, he sobbed, and something inside him said: "This is what Du were made to do." He felt as if he was already losing his purpose. It was as if he knew this was his last stand. Whether it went down in history oder was shunned as a pathetic attempt, he would do it.
It was like a omen when his eyes met it. The sight brought just enough joy to the lamenting leader to make him half smile.
His army of loyal neighbors stood awaiting his commands, gleaming under the glorious sunset of victory.
KJ: "Are we ready captain?!"
S: "Yes, my boys need me. I'm not 'Disgrace', I'm Skipper, their Skipper."
Mo: "'Disgrace'?"
S: "It's ..... complicated. Roy, Burt, Ted, I want Du to smash in these doors like they insulted you."
R: "Righty-oh,"
Bu: "You betcha!"
S: "Bada, Bing, Joey, scare off oder preferably beat up any human that seems somewhat to be a threat of our operation."
They all cracked their knuckles as Leonard fainted at the sound.
Ba: "It's go time,"
Bi: "Yeah, for messin' with the little birdies."
S: "Lemurs, flamigos, ostrich, chimps, Suchen each of the rooms and release all the captives. Baboons, chamelions, Randy, bunnies, Barry, Rodger, and Marlene you're coming with me."
They stood there staring in space.
S: "What are Du all waiting for?! Let's go! Go! Go!"
They rushed into position.
S: "Soldiers, tonight we take a stand, place are own mark on history and became legends, gain glory, what I've been waiting for my whole life, oder die trying, but most importantly we look out for each other. We rescue our Friends in need, as one! Now let's go!"
They all moved as a unit. Once the door was broken through they knew. All safety had left them and from there they all could be attacked at any moment. Skipper led the charging Tiere into the first room where a man was cleansing a whip at a table, oblivious to them totally. The girl Skipper had met trudged in the door, her arm being clenched Von a furious man, too distracted to notice them. Skipper gained a sense of pride in how silent they minoovered. Both men neglected to notice, but the girl didn't, she grinned slyly not to blow their cover.
M1: "Why did Du bring this slave here?"
M2: "This piece of trödel, schrott, junk-e- didn't wash the Tiere well enough!"
The man who was cleaning was the boss. He noticed scrapes and cuts all over her body.
M1: "Where'd those cuts come from, sweetheart?"
G: "He whipped me."
The man jumped up from his chair. Hatred flared in his eyes as he stepped forward. Skipper braced himself on the man's shoulder to make his first assualt if the boss threatened his friend. But to everyone's suprise, the man punched the other man causing blood to spill down his face and onto the floor.
M1: "Don't dish out a beating without my permission!"
The other man laid on the ground in shock, staring and gesturing at Skipper.
M1: "What is it? Can't Du speak?!"
With that Skipper knocked the man out, and Joey took care of the other man in a matter of a minute. The girl recongized Skipper immediately and squeezed him tight.
G: "Be careful, okay?"
Skipper nodded.
S: "Take her to safety."
Bing carried for outside and returned.
Skipper paused and comptemplated a bit more.
KJ: "What's with the silly pinguin today?"
M: "I'm not sure, but it's like he senses something is going to happen to him. It's spooky."
Skipper turned to his friends.
S: "What are Du all waiting for?"
They scrambled to their positions.
S: "Scour for weapons everybody prepare for attacks. Remember if we die, we die in one of the greatest honors, dying on the battlefield. We're not going down without a fight, either. Let's go. This is are time to shine, for one final time."
Private was going to face his most dreaded enemy yet, his friend. Rico's eyes gleamed as he licked his beak at the sight of Private helplessly trembling. Sure enough making the most noise, in the front row, sat Officer X, Cecil, and Brick, munching eagerly on popcorn. Finally, a shot rang out, starting the beginning of the end for Private.
He began fleeing from Rico, who stood in the center, intensely watching his prey, like a lion at night, hunting a zebra colt. This was perfect for Rico's plot, oder so he thought. He was in the arena with Private, now no one could blame him for killing Private.
The small pinguin was Mehr like a sitting ente to his assailiant. He just waited for an attack, and of course, one soon came his way. Rico snuck up behind him and when it was too late for his victim to escape, he crunched on his neck. Private screamed bloody murder. Rico brought Private to his knees. His screams echoed through the building.
Skipper stood in front of the door to the hallway to the arena.
S: "Private?!"
They stacked up and turned the door knob. Two guards jumped at the sight of the Tiere carrying weapons. All of them used that to their advantage. Skipper shot an Arrow at the one's foot, and Marlene threw a messer at the other one's shirt, attaching him to the wall, where he tried to get his snagged hemd, shirt out. They rushed in the arena and Skipper couldn't believe his eyes. Private was being pinned down Von Rico.
Skipper raced up touching Rico's shoulder gently.
P: "No! Skipper he'll hurt -"
R: "Skipper?"
S: "I'm here, boys."
Rico wrapped his flippers around his leader, and wept repentfully, begging for forgiveness. While Skipper comforted his prodigal soldier, a familiar face appeared out of nowhere. It was Killer.
Ki: "Private!"
P: "Dad? You're alive!"
Private rushed to his dad and began to hug him.
Ki: "Oh, you're bleeding. Watch the feathers, okay."
Killer retreated out of Private's gory embrace.
S: "Killer?"
Ki: "Yes, Skipper don't Du remember me helping Du rescue Private?"
Killer shot Skipper a look saying Du wouldn't wan to disappoint him.
S: "Yeah, sorry."
Skipper turned and watched the fleeing crowd. Was this it? This is how it's going to be? He thought to himself.
P: "I Liebe you, dad! You're my hero!"
Private exclaimed and Skipper glanced back in false hope that Private meant him. He was wrong.
Skipper felt terrible. Even though they had succeeded in every task tossed at him so far. Private deserved a normal life, but it was hard letting that scum, be the one to take his son away. Skipper closed his eyes holding back silent tears, but soon his silent moment of sorrow was interrupted with a single voice. His eyes weakly opened halfway to see Officer X with a gun and his other foes in front of him.
OX: "End of the line, penguins. Finally, I get my revenge. And they'll be no Mehr penguins to make me look like a fool."
Shrieks came from his friends, including Kowalski and Nicole, who had just arrived. Suddenly, a BOOM sounded as a bullet flew through the air right at Private. Killer stepped back, but Skipper, with every ounce of his courage, shoved his soldier out of harm's way, but in doing so, he couldn't save himself.
He gazed down to see a bloody hole in his hip. A thick queasily warm liquid came up from the back of his throat, and he knew. It was blood. The Sekunden felt like hours. His team rushed up to him.
P: "Skipper! You're okay!"
Just when he sagte that, a sharp pain terrorized his chest, and fell to one knee.
K: "Skipper?"
He couldn't force it down any longer and coughed up the fluid. Down he fell to his other knee. This is it. Here I die in front of my friends. I die free, and they live free, Skipper thought to himself as the arena spun around him in slow motion before he collapsed in Private's flippers. In his tears Private noticed a calm smile on Skipper's face. He was finally at peace, knowing his team was safe.
In the background they heard Officer X locking his pistol, readying to take another shot. To his misfortune and to the penguins luck, he was out of bullets.
OX: "Shoot! Come on, come on!"
C: "You only had one bullet!?"
Roy, Bada, and Bing cracked their knuckles and began to beat the foes up.
P: "Kowalski, is he d-d-dead?!"
K: "Not yet, but he's losing too much blood. If he's going to survive, I need to operate right now, which I ... can't do. We need Mehr supplies."
M: "Hold on, in one room we passed through there were stiches, tweezer, and knives. Maybe Du could use those."
K: "Good, bring them as fast as Du can. You'd be faster with help. Nicole, can you-"
N: "I'm on it,"
Kowalski stared down at his dying leader.
K: "It's going to be okay, Skipper."
Private began regretting the fight he had had with his leader.
Ki: "Come on, Private it's hopeless. Let's leave."
Private turned his head to glance at his father, disappointedly shaking his head with tears drizzling down his face.
P: "No,"
Ki: "What did Du say?"
P: "No, I can't leave Skippah. After all he's done for me. He saved my life numerous times. He's always tried to protect me, and was there when I needed him. He's my dad."
Ki: "Fine, I'll just-"
Out of nowhere, police sirens filled the air with their noise.
Pol: "This is the police! Come out, you're surronded!"
Cecil, X, and Brick were handcuffed in a matter of minutes. The penguins had achieved victory, but no one felt a pinch of joy.
Skipper knew he was about to die, but not even the Minute before his death did he only think about himself and forget his team of brothers and his son. His unconuiss mind thought of a time back when he was a younger Mehr healthy soldier, in Antartica.
He was swimming in his regular fishing spot, but for some reason, he took a different turn. Chunks of ice drifted through the water around him. He swam into clops of gray pelz with spots. Only then did he realize how much trouble he had put himself in. That every Minute he was fishing on dichtung terf.
Just then a dichtung come up from below him and tried to catch him inside its powerful jaws. Skipper torpedoed through the water like a speed boat. Getting the predator off his tail feathers, he leaped onto a flowing piece of ice. There he saw ahead of him a disturbing sight.
A chick was balancing on the edge of a iceberg, while seals tried to climb up it. They pulled their slender bodies up, but contuined to slid off.
It was quite a Weltraum betwween each ice, but Skipper had to make it. With a running start, Skipper leaped iceberg from iceberg. Finally, he was at the one Weiter to the endangered penguin.
?: "Run! They'll eat you!"
S: "I'm not leaving Du here! Jump! Trust me, please!"
Suddenly one of the seals accomplished the feat and slid toward Private, who stood there petrified with fear as the dichtung approached. It went for the kill, but right at the last Sekunde Private jumped. Skipper taube catching him in mid air, landing into the dichtung infested waters. With no other thought he tossed the little pinguin to safety.
Once again, Skipper was being chased, but this time the young pinguin was ahead of him hopping in safety to land.
Almost getting torn up Von killing machines several times, Skipper accomplished his mission, and the pinguin he rescued sped up to him with a hug.
?: "Thank you, mister."
S: "Anytime, for an adorable little hatchling like you, but Weiter time don't run into seals."
?: "I wasn't trying to attract those seals."
S: "Then why'd Du go out there alone and when you're so little? Didn't your parents tell Du not to go fishing until you're older?"
?: "I don't have any parents. We were seperated when I was hatched."
S: "Oh I'm so sorry, who do Du live with then?"
?: "It's just me .... alone, and I Bewegen from place to place to catch my food."
S: "Do Du have a name?"
?: "No,"
S: "Well ..... how do Du like ...... Private?"
?: "I like it,"
S: "Private it is then! Do Du have a place to stay tonight?"
P: "No,"
S: "Come on, Du should stay with my team and I."
P: "Thank Du so much!"
Skipper picked up the juvenile penguin, who clung to Skipper's neck, nuzzling the cozy feathers on his new friend's chest, and they waddled off into the sunset brightened land of snow.
With a moan Skipper began to come back to reality. His sealed shut eyes blinked open, revealing the starry ocean colored night sky. A breeze blew as he inhaled air and breathed in relief. Using his flippers, he pushed himself up into a sitting position.
P: "Skippah!"
Private rushed up to Skipper and gave him a tight hug snuggling his feathers just like he did when he was a chick. Soon the rest of the team joined him. After a troublesome month, Skipper along with his team, was joyful, but it partially ended shortly when he saw and remembered Killer.
P: "You laid your life on the line, for me. Du saved me, willing to die in the process. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Du jumping in front of that bullet and saving from those seals. I can never repay Du for all you've done."
S: "Just being here, is how Du repay me."
P: "No one has ever told me that before. I'm really going to miss you."
Skipper couldn't stand to hold them back any farther, tears drizzled down his cheeks.
P: "I promise, I'll remember all of Du and think about you, guys. You've been there for me so much, and to think this is how I treat Du back."
Private acompanied his team in sobbing.
K: "Private, just do what your herz tells you."
R: "I'm sorry."
P: "It's okay, Rico."
P: "Okay, dad -"
Private turned to his father, who wasn't there.
P: "Where is he?"
S: "He isn't coming back."
P: "Why? Wait, how do Du know?"
S: "He's afraid. Of commitment. It's not you, I promise. He told me, but he left like a coward."
P: "Great, my own father doesn't want me."
S: "Yes, he does, and he's here for Du whenever Du need him."
P: "Huh?"
S: "I Liebe you, son."
P: "You're my hero, dad."
All the penguins and other Tiere watched the men, who once had sentenced all of them to death, taken to justice. The girl timidly stepped toward the policemen, and explained her story. A few days later, she was reunited with her guardians. Her life made a dramatic turn for the better as her new life kicked off. In time and as years passed, her memory of a torturous past faded.
Nicole and Kowalski managed to work out their quarrel, and it made their relationship even stronger. After numerous apologies from Rico, Private forgave him and they were back to normal, well Rico normal. They all were healed from their wounds, both physically and mentally, but Rico never forgot Max as Private for Killer. No longer did Skipper look upon himself as a disgrace, but a heroic leader, who was capable of doing anything for his teammates. Their inspiring tale was told from generation to generation of penguins. As for Killer, they never really heard from him again. Skipper might not have been a blood relative of Private, but he certaintly was his father.
THE END! :D ;)
