The government gave them permission. They had to request a permit. It's illegal to film without one

Great but would they have moved areas if they where asked probably not because they're the oh so famous larger then life twilight cast.

Another book that teaches kids to vandalize is twilight James vandilized that heller studio Edward Vandalized Bellas stuff they must have mental problems.

If the government told them not to film in Brazil, they wouldn't film in Brazil. They'd film somewhere else.

So...lemme ask you, if something/somewhere you loved and cherished was being used to film a romance movie that you didn't even care for, you wouldn't have any thoughts of standing up for what you care about.?! It's like in court; if your the lawyer of the defendant, and the lawyer of the plantiff makes a thorough, well-though comment, are you just going to back down and say you give up?! I would certainly hope not!

It doesn't say the Brazilians don't like Twilight. They just didn't want a movie filmed there.

A portion of Transformers 2 was filmed here. I didn't like the firsst Trandformers movie. I don't like Megan Fox or What's his name LaBuff (whatever it is) but I felt absolutely no ugre to get violent and set things on fire.

Why should a few people's personal feeling about Brazil or a movie matter at all? They should have gotten over themselves and let what happens happen

Would you let the Harry potter cast use your neighborhood to film, giving them the right to tell you not to walk down certain streets or do certain actinides because it could disrupt their filming. Would you like to listinen to the constant screaming from Emma as she acts out the torture scene while your trying to sleep or relax? Would you just let what happens happen?

And how did the HP books influence people to vandlize Rowling didn't write hey everyone go vandalize things in her books.

@youknowit : they filmed at the street actually, they're added some new scene to show how happy E/B are after they're married. If I'm correct it's a kissing scene ON the street.

I don't get it:

The cast had a permit. I don't know how things are done in Brazil, but here in America, when something like this happens the local government gives you a pretty decent amount of time to take up any problems they have about whatever is going on, and to make other arrangements (place to stay, figure out new routes). I seriously, seriously, doubt the crew just showed up one day with no warning. And even if they did, that's the problem with the governments fault. It's their job to keep their residents informed on what's going on. They should have taken it up with them, not the crew.

I agree^ its funny because it said 'set a portable toilet on fire', it wouldn't however be funny if it said 'set one of their trailers on fire'. It was just a portaloo but the reasoning behind it is OTT!

This is crazy. I would't like it if they were filming in my town, but lighting a port-a-potty on fire isn't going to solve problems.

I personally thought the porta potty thing was funny. The vandalizing the whole set was a bit drastic(sorry for spelling). I mean I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and a HUGE Anti-Twilight perosn, but I don't see why they had to vandalize the whole set.

Also, calling us mental when we find that the porta potty and diestrucint of Twilight funny was so uncalled for. Yes I would the tolite in my house is already broken or close to broken. And whatever you sue the person for breaking into your house and destroying things. The twilight guys can do the same. Who cares about the laughter they are just there. And there's a diffrance between breaking things to protest and breaking things to break them.

Do you honeslty care about toilets this much? For peats sake! It's what a $100(american) to buy a new toilet or replace it! THey could just cut down on Edward's salary or something. That's not how you treat actors. They're pretty much doing you a favor by acting in your movie.
Plus, they have a contract, you can't break that contract becuase some crazy people set the toilets on fire.
They cost more than $100 to build. It doesn't just hurt the movie budget, it hurts the toilet manufacturers. The people who need to use the toilets. The people who build the parts the manufacturers buy from

There are other ways to make a change, but if you look at everything around the world happening... Nobody's laughing at Egypt or the other countries that've had protests like this. I'm sure a portopotty got destroyed in a country at war. Nobody's laughing at that one. This is it on a smaller scale of something that can become much bigger and much worst. Imagine if the set would've been set on fire while someone was there? Imagine they'd have attacked a crew member? Those behaviours all have the same roots on different scales and by starting at 1, you climb to a 2, 3, 4 and finally someone gets hurt. Just because its Twilight doesn't mean its okay.

Second, youknowit, that was disrespectful. I don't agree with them but bringing mental health into the equation was not necessary or bringing a point.

And there is a difference between someone with a mental issue and someone with a destructive purpose. I have a sister that's autistic and if she breaks something because she's angry it's not because she's a vandilising punk. Be careful how you respond to that.

really cheap toilets are $12.15 the ones they use are probably closer to $150. they also order more than one. they probably need at least 50 of them to be up to health code

They are given the option to renew their contract after every film. they volunteer to renew their contract. they are all getting enough roles now to not need twilight

All we did was say it was funny and then we were done. I am a major HP fan and if one of the portaloos for the HP set got set on fire I would still be laughing my head off. I don't care if it's Twilight, HP, or PJO. I would laugh my head off. Doesn't make a difference who's potty it is. I still find it funny.

Should the directors take the actors for granted? should they treat them badly? No, they still have free will. Employees have rights. you can't disrespect them because they are chosing to work for you.

I didn't say they should disrespect the actors. All I said was since this ONE portaloo out of the however many they have is gone then they could cut their pay. If they cut all of the leads pay by like 10-25 dollars(American) and they can pay for the broken toilet. I mean they get like what a million or so dollars. I don't think 10 dollars is going to make a big difference here.

Toilet's are on a smaller scale then murder. Toilet's are living. THe victim's are therefore, it's a differnt story. If someone would have been in the portaloo or on the set and either had gottong burned or hurt most of us wouldn't be laughing. But, since no one DID get hurt then we laugh because it's a friggin bathroom going up in flames.

if the protestors were but in a direct inconvenience, they were promised compensation. if they vandalized and still expect to get paid, they've got another thing comming. the compensation was an offer in exchange for their cooperation.
