Updated ranking of the Disney Princesses

My Liste hasn't changed all that much but I thought after rewatching Aladin I would write an updated list.

13. Merida- Not a fan, I'm all for female empowerment but I don't like her attitude. She is just so rude & I do not find her likeable.

12. Elsa- She just really bugs me. I can't think of any other reasons but she just aggravates me.

11. Anna- Not keen on her either. She is not as bad as the other two but I'm not a fan, moving on.

10. Tiana- She is too much of a workaholic. I get that she has dreams to run her own restaurant but she can have fun once in awhile.

9. Jasmine- jasmin has really moved down on my list. I just cannot stand her attitude. I like strong women but her attitude is so irritating. I find her to be so rude. She is also a hypocrite. Aladin lies to her but yet jasmin believes him & she claims she is "not a prize to be won" but yet she lets Aladin treat her like one, makes no sense. She is just too much a diva for my taste.

8. Pocahontas- I have nothing against Pocahontas but I find her forgettable. The whole movie is forgettable. She is a bland character IMO. There is nothing wrong about her I just don't find her as exciting as the other princesses.

7. Snow White- I feel bad for not putting her higher than 7 but she doesn't do much for me. I know this is shallow but her voice just gets under my skin. I find her voice to be very off-putting. I don't know what else to say but I just can't get into her.

6. Mulan- I feel bad for not putting Mulan any higher but she's not my style. Again, while I like female empowerment I don't know if it is like this where Du guys live but where I live she constantly gets shoved down peoples throats she was the first feminist princess. I highly disagree with that. She dresses like a man to be strong, I don't think that is the best message for girls. Girls should not have to dress like men to be strong. She lied to the army about her gender, I'm not an expert on Chinese government it is illegal to lie about your gender to the army. While the Walt era princesses get so much flack for getting saved Von a man, meanwhile Mulan lied about her gender to Mitmachen the army. I'm not sure if that is the best message for children, sorry if I offended Mulan fans. Mulan is just not feminine enough for my taste.

5. Cinderella- While I don't care for the actual movie, I do adore the character. People complain how Aschenputtel should have just left her stepfamily but she had no where to go. She couldn't simply just Bewegen into an apartment & work at Dunkin' Donuts. Marriage was really her only way to escape her family & people have to remember in that time period, women didn't have the options they do now.

4. Aurora- Aurora is not the star, sterne of her film, it's really the 3 good Elfen but it's hard to not like Aurora. She is so sweet & kindhearted & I just can't help but not Liebe her. She is one of those characters that always puts a smile on your face. I Liebe how classy & elegant she is. I also Liebe Aurora's introverted & reserved personality. I think it's great that modern Filme & tv shows have stronger women but I wish we made Mehr characters like Aurora around but it is not acceptable for todays society unfortunately.

3. Rapunzel- I can't even describe how much I Liebe Rapunzel! She is just so enthusiastic & bubbly. I'm a bubbly person myself. I Liebe Mandy Moore so that is another plus. She is just so fine & I Liebe how she is strong but she is still feminine. I Liebe her scenes with the frying pan! Those scenes are a riot! She is just an awesome character!

2. Belle- Belle was a huge part of my childhood! I can relate to Belle because I am an outcast at my college because I Liebe Disney & most people at my college think its weird to be passionate about Disney as a college student. I Liebe that Belle has a passion for books. I Liebe to read though I could be better about Lesen but it's harder as a college student because I read a lot for classes & do a lot research projects so I don't feel as motivated to read but I'm hoping when I graduate Weiter semester, I will have Mehr time to find a book to read for pleasure. Another reason I relate to Belle is because some of the guys at my school are like Gaston.

1. Ariel- I'm sure for those who know me on fanpop, my number one DP isn't a surprise. I can't even describe how much I Liebe Ariel. I get so angry when people hate on Ariel. I Liebe her bubbly personality & as I mentioned earlier, I'm a bubbly person myself. I'm very energetic like Ariel & I'm also driven & adventurous. Even though I'm a guy, Ariel totally fits my personality. If I were a princess, I would totally be Ariel.

laylastepford ^ I wouldn't say feminists are the absolute worst people ever but I definitely think they're awful. I also understand why someone at college would think they're even worse. Feminists have ruined college in a lot of ways. They've made college go from the most open-minded place to an emotionally fascist place where everyone's opinions are not equal and can't be heard. They've defunded a majority of male sports and have successfully gotten lots of male students to stop enrolling. Additionally, the unspoken yet systemic bias towards females also creates an environment at college where no girl can be criticized for anything or she pretends it's sexism and feminism actually backs her up because they have no heart or souls.

disneymagic93 So true!!! I have had professors that told me they don't like Disney Princesses because they are too devoted to their man.

disneymagic93 Oh my goodness that is horrible! I seriously need to check her out. No offense but I find that girls are often meaner than guys.

laylastepford ^ Oh my gosh, I completely agree 100%. That's not offensive to me at all, just true. Guys are also more straight forward so if they don't like you or something about you, they tend to tell you to your face and almost immediately. Females on the other hand are much more prone to lying, backstabbing and manipulating so you won't find out they don't like you until they told someone else about it who does like you. That was one thing I really loved about your articles, you just got straight to the heart of the matter without much fluff yet maintained respect. That's a tough balance so I commend you! :D

laylastepford ^ I mean it. I admire it. I'm not so good at that. I tend to go too soft or too hard with my comments but you have this sweet zone balance where you say what you think and it's not insulting but it's direct. I cant help but love and admire that! :D That's awesome that you don't have a facebook! I don't either. Anything you post on there becomes facebook's property, even after you delete it. Not cool, not safe. WOW. What a link, thanks for sharing. It's sad to know stuff like that is out there. I think it's sad that women don't see that although feminists pretend to "fight for women and their choices", they actually are one of the most fascist groups in American history. They tell you what to think, how to think, who to think about, etc. It's upsetting to me that women who follow feminism don't realize that they're being used and feminism gets away with it because women are more emotional than men and more subjective to advertisement and influence etc. That's why feminists can never get me to stop respecting men (gay or straight, as long as they're decent people) because men just don't whine and complain and make excuses the way women do. The link you sent me is a great example. Feminists always want to say "look at the housework" etc. but they don't want to ever mention the flip side about look how men have historically been objectified as soldiers in war. No one in America is more objectified at all then our men in the military, including women in the military. The way those men get talked to, simply because they are men and going to war, is terrifying! I just hate when feminists act like women do all the work when all science, history and anthropology proves that the reason men have strengths over women in the physical natural world is because back when we started evolving into our "cave man" stage and pushing forward, men did ALL of the work while women did none. This repeated for thousands of years until finally one day, 50 years ago some woman named Betty Friedan wrote "The Feminine Mystique" and because she had problems in her marriage and being a mother, she assumed all women America felt the same, wrote the book and Boom! Women started burning bras and fighting to lose their virginity younger and give themselves over to much more men. No one has objectified women more in America than feminists. I think the worst thing on the list that is the most indicative of why I hate feminism and why it's really just an excuse for bad women to do whatever they want is "Propose that the hatred that Anastasia and Drizella feel toward Cinderella is not the fault of the stepsisters, so much as it represents a complete indictment of Western society and its attitudes toward feminine beauty." What a load of crap! This one stings me personally because it's atrocious. I grew up with an evil stepmother and 2 sisters just like Cinderella and the hate that the sisters have, has nothing to do with "western society and its attitudes towards feminine beauty". It had everything to do with a horrible woman who shouldn't have been a mother, teaching and raising her daughters to be that way! Feminists wont say that though because they never let the blame fall on a female because they're completely sexist! Wow I hate that. Especially because people like feminine beauty in all cultures and that's not subjective to western society. Eastern society actually has much more emphasis on gender roles and what "feminine" beauty is. Besides, feminism is the one that pushed women to "wear whatever they want and flaunt/exploit their femininity". Feminism destroys women more than anything else in America! Additionally, I hate how western society gets represented as some hateful on women culture. Western society is the most free and progressive society as they gave women, coloreds and gays far more rights and freedoms than most other places on earth and they did it before anyone else did! Feminists really are some of the most ungrateful and self-centered people on earth. That article should've been titled "How to make your daughter a self-centered spoiled brat who will never be open to criticism and be stuck with her god-awful personality for the rest of her life in 8 steps." By the way, feminists do stuff like that on purpose because they know good men don't want to marry women like that and the more women don't get married to men, the more money they spend on products and the more desperate they are to believe feminist propaganda. Women have no idea how easily they are being taken advantage of and exploited for their flighty emotions in America.

laylastepford ^ Completely agreed. Yes, I don't like social media either. There are some good things that could come from it but for the most part, it's just a way for a bunch of sensitive people to over exaggerate things that, in reality, they are just personally overreacting to. I'm not a Betty Friedan fan at all either. Surprisingly though, most feminists have no idea that she is the pioneer of feminism as we know it today. I personally know much more about feminism than most self-proclaimed feminists do. I'm not a sexist either but I'm a complete anti-feminist. Feminist never did anything for me and I have no problem saying I hate feminism. I think feminism is sexism and I hate when feminists say things like "I'm feminist because I believe women are people too." That just makes you not intellectually retarded because even young children can tell women are people. What a load of crap.

laylastepford ^ There's a poll going on right now about "weakest DPs emotionally and mentally". Aurora was voted out 2nd after Elsa because people claimed she's really weak for not speaking her opinion and resisting her arranged marriage and duty more. How lame is it that we have people who actually associate being responsible, accepting and self-controlled as "weak"? Those used to be the key factors in identifying a strong person in America.

laylastepford ^ Agreed! Unnecessarily too. I think they get more hate for what they represent than what they're actually like. :) By the way! Have you ever seen the show Scream Queens?

laylastepford I don't know exactly what you're into but it's a horror-comedy show that makes tons of subtle rips at feminism etc. It's hilarious and one of my favorite shows for the writing. It's very un-politically correct and says a lot of the things that tv usually shies away from (in satirical joke form, of course). If you are interested at all, I would highly recommend it.

laylastepford ^ No worries. I understand. Well, it makes some great jokes against feminists as I said. Highlights the things wrong with their bad advice etc. and proves points against them on a number of subjects, which is the only reason I brought it up. :)

disneymagic93 @laylastepford I get it. I wanted to ask, out of curiosity, is the horror genre better at portraying women than Disney?

laylastepford ^ That's a great question. I suppose that most of the time, it is pretty accurate. Some people might find them a bit stereotypical but I find that stereotypes tend to become stereotypes for a reason. (Not always but often.) With horror films, there are some that show women unrealistically taking on the "villain", so to speak, but it depends. If it's got a lead woman then it tends to go a bit more girl power/Hollywood with the script and if the lead is a man then it tends to be a bit more realistic in gender and race portrayal. At least in my opinion, that's how it usually seems. One movie though, came out not too long ago called The Descent and it starred only women. That movie had a really good balance of both, some unrealistic Hollywood female hero stuff as well as some genuine and honest portrayals of female dynamics. It was not an American movie though. That's another thing. European films are the best when it comes to realistic portrayals of women because those women are not as sensitive and immature as American women so they can handle inconvenient truths better than American women can and they don't need their fantasies fulfilled on the screen like American women do either.

disneymagic93 @laylastepford, I think Disney made their women stronger but again they had to because of the feminism movement.

laylastepford ^ I personally think Disney have always made their women strong and that they just make the females more modern now but I wouldn't necessarily associate that with "stronger". If anything, I think more females today in Disney are less strong because while they can throw tantrums and get attention, they don't have the strength of discipline and humility the way a lot of the older ones did.

laylastepford Their perception of strength is to be without a man or not wanting/valuing/prioritizing romance. This is despite the fact that no woman ever on her deathbed ever once said "I wish I spent less time on my family or looking for love and more time trying to become a corporate tycoon" or whatever other absurd feminist fantasy.

Eisme Ok but in Elsa's defense, her parents really messed her up! They made her become so cold and detached to the point where she cudn't even hug them b4 they left and guess what, they never ever returned. Plus one of Elsa finer traits is that she's very dutiful so she always did what her parents expected of her even after their death just to honour them which IS a good thing to do. But this soon became the norm for her and it all just blew up in her face during her coronation. That aside, frozen's timeline the "1800's" wasn't the most embracing towards magic, Arendell was a very conservative place so the poor woman had no idea what to do next, or even at least how to control her powers thanks to her parents so while running away from the problem wasn't the best solution,it is really justifiable! Your irrational and unreasonable hatred for Elsa is just a clear sign that u didn't even understand the character and expected her to be like other princesses before her instead of being her own individual. Same thing for Anna!
