Since I'm being so villainous, it seemed like an appropriate time to share MY OPINIONS on DP Filme villains and rank them in order. (Joke intended :D)

So here goes:

1. Maleficent:
with her one nasty evil stroke, she set the stage, She didn't dabble in small time efforts. Her character is the most alluring and unique. She was a fairy, but an evil one. She has the aura of an enchantress. I loved her confidence when she took the stage while casting out the spell.
The best villainy traits: downright evil, need no disguise, doesn't flaunt but does every act confidently and with most style.

2. Mother Gothel:
I loved the way she took the girl and raised her as her own daughter and conditioned her mind to believe that the outside world is a dangerous place. With this, she ensured Rapunzel's gift will stay with her for long long time. She could have kept her as a slave but was cunning enough to have a long term vision that sooner oder later Rapunzel might turn against her and will keep trying to escape.
She was moderately considerate of her small demands from time to time, to keep Rapunzel occupied.
The best villainy traits: most cool-headed witch, long term planner, manipulative and very convincing.

3. Urusula:
Octo-maid, like wow! what a way to visualize evil character besides the obvious choice of shark. I Liebe her characterization, she has the wicked sense of humor. Liebe her crazy laugh. Although, she looks like she had her go several times at Triton and kept failing. Eventually, villains are supposed to fail but there was a glitch in her master plan - what if Ariel would have actually succeeded which she almost did and Urusula had to resort to Plan B. Uh huh, not such good planning I'd say. But purely on the uniqueness of the character, she''s one of my fav.
The best villainy traits: Sassy, wicked, opportunist

4. Lady Tremaine:
I think if i ever have to abuse someone as cold hearted bitch, i'll just call them Lady Tremaine. Full of jealousy, she was one of the most unkind and cruel in an icy commanding way. What i like about her that she kept nipping at Cinderella's confidence in really subtle ways, isolating her and making subtle snide remarks. She could have kicked Aschenputtel out of her home, but used her as a maid instead. Another clever point.
But she didn't foresee that Aschenputtel would had to had the other glass slipper, despite knowing she was the one who danced with Prince and the royal servants are searching for her with the other pair. She could have planned against it (like Aschenputtel 2015). Also, I feel that she's sort of inspired from Maleficent in some ways, like a real-world Maleficent. I can't really pinpoint why though.
The best villainy traits: mean and cold-hearted.

5. Hans:
A villainous prince...quite interesting and first one in DP movies. I liked the way the Liebe at first sight turned out to be quite different. Hans was a true opportunist and played out quite well, making everyone believe in his good intentions towards Arendelle. I liked how he double crossed both sisters and positioned himself brilliantly as the savior. I quite like this trait in villains - double crossing.
My only low point was that he was such a coward! He would be the one who begs for mercy when defeated.
The best villainy traits: pretentious, conniving and manipulative.

6. Jafar:
Honestly, he's not in my oben, nach oben 5 just because i watched Aladin TV series prior to its movie and i find Mozenrath and Caliph as much better villains than Jafar. He was such a coward, didn't have any real plans on how to out-throw a ruling emperor. He dabbled on small gimmicks and placed his hopes on the magical lamp. Being in a position of trusted Royal Vizier, he should have done better. Oh plus he was sorcerer too. I mean, come on, you've got parlour tricks like hynotizing.
The best villainy traits: backstabber

7. Evil Queen:
Yes, I know. Being the first DP movie villain, i give her full credit. I liked her composed aura that resonated evilness but again the same problem as Jafar. Not much proper use of her power. She's a Queen. I would have preferred a stronger evil plot to kill Snow when she learned her huntsmen had failed to kill Snow. Why risk and put Snow in a curse which has a chance of being broken, when she could just walk in and kill her. I know, there wouldn't have been a story only if Snow was to die. But, Evil Queen failed to impress me as a thorough villain.
The best villainy traits: Vanity

8. Ratcliffe:
Don't see much of his role as a direct villain to anyone. As long as he would have found his Gold in the clearing, he really wouldn't have bothered anyone. Although, of course, digging Gold in someone else's part of land in itself is unacceptable. He was a true gold-digger and when he failed to acquire the wealth as he had imagined, enraged, he took to annihilate the tribe. He had a deep-rooted greed and he would have done anything and everything in his power to satisfy it.
Despite his gruesome plans, his character didn't register as strong and memorable as others. He had the potential, if gegeben enough screen time perhaps.
The best villainy traits: insatiable greed, power-hungry and someone who will gladly walk over your dead body for his benefit.

9. Dr. Facilier/The Shadow Man:
His primary Motto was to rob people, earn quick money and on seeing Prince Naveen, he devised an evil plot that will make him rich. He has read very well into character's insecurities and deep-rooted desires. His plan was pretty convincing and could have succeeded in time only if Lawrence wasn't so clumsy. But as The Shadow Man's character, i don't find it unique enough. It closely resembles to Urusula, being a witch and an opportunist, hungry for power/money who also played on Ariel's insecurity very well.
The best villainy traits: playing on insecurities of people

10. Shan Yu:
Never underestimate your enemy. First rule of war. He clearly was already Victorious in his head when he attacked on the China Wall. He mocked the defense and didn't consider the possibilities of counter-attack. He wouldn't even had been able to make a comeback if Shang and other people would have listened to Mulan in first place.
Apart from being arrogant and physical brawl, I didn't find the character to be well-defined.
The best villainy traits: arrogance

PS: this is only the first of all Filme under Disney Princess Umbrella and hasn't taken into consideration any sequels and TV series. Also, wasn't sure how to frame Beast and Mor 'Du as villains exactly, so didn't consider them as well in the list.

And, this is my first article! and I'm really happy to share my Ansichten on a topic which I'm sure must have been discussed and debated several times. But nonetheless, would Liebe to hear from Du guys.
