There are times when it gets annoying.

Not really. It's just a part of her character and makes perfect sense given the loss of her mother. She stepped up to fill that role in the family. It's only natural that it extends to her friends- many of whom she's older than.

I love how she's the motherly and caring person in the group.

It makes sense because of how she had to grow up too fast and be the mature and responsible one. But she also knows how to have fun. Heck, I think Sokka was actually more of a killjoy than she was and he's the freaking comic relief.

Not really, as said above it just fits her character and her loss. Though there are times it can be a bit annoying.

Sometimes, but as they say in the show, that trait is certainly not always a bad thing.
