Chapter 2
The Weiter morning I woke up feeling tired and worst than usually. Swollen feet, aching back, I was up all night long treating people who thought they had the flu. I knew I had to get up and go to work, I lived alone for now and somebody has to pay the rent. And right now, it's me. Just as I was about to get up the phone rang. "Hello?", "ohh thank goodness I caught Du before Du left. Listen jasmine, I know Du really need this job to keep your rent up but you've been working yourself crazy down here at this clinic. You’re pregnant and I think Du should really take the Tag off, stay Home and get some rest I’m working on finding Du a replacement for the Tag right know"."Ms. Jones Du really don’t have to do that I’m sure I’ll be fine. I- "Jasmine, your baby is coming very soon. You’re due n 3 weeks. Now I may sound like your grandmother for a Sekunde but your little tail needs to sit down and relax for a while. Your grandmother and I are both members of the juvenile church, we could easily help Du pay your rent until Du have this baby and you’re capable of coming back to work". Ms. Jones was right. I’ve been working so hard these past couple of months and I did need a break. "Yes ma'am" as I hung up the phone. well, since I’m going to be out of work I think I should go to the mall and look for some cloths and little baby shoes and toys for Jeremiah. Rubbing my belly, I thought about what my life would be like when I have Jeremiah. Who is going to watch him while I’m at work and school? That means um not going to be able to see him during the day. Off to the mall I go.
Walking to the bus stop something hit me; I was going to be a parent soon. Suddenly I started to feel kinds scared. I was going to the mall to find cloths for MY BABY. A BABY that was going to be my responsibility. A BABY that I needed to take care after and watch after until he gets old enough to watch himself. While I was Tag dreaming I hadn’t realized that the bus had come. It was my mom’s old friend Ronnie. He was always so nice to me. "Hey jasmine, look at Du looking all pretty baby girl. Du going to work today?".”Nahh, my baby due soon so they gave me a couple of days off. I figured I would due a little shopping for myself before the baby dusche tomorrow, so I’m headed to the mall." Of course he was going to let me on the bus free because I was pregnant. But also a friend of the family's. He started telling me all about his family and how they talk about me whenever they have a family get together. At that moment, I felt so special, Mehr people care for me then I thought. I thought no-one cared about at all. But I guess I was wrong.
After leaving Ronnie, I felt like a new person. The first store I went into was baby gap. The cloths there were so tiny, and cute. There was this little hat and gloves set for 2 dollars. It was blue, white and yellow my Favorit colors, of course had to buy it. I found him a hemd, shirt some pants and a little jacke to go with it. I couldn’t wait to see him in his little outfit that his mommy brought for him went to foot locker and found him 3 pairs of Jordan’s and two pairs of air forces. “Mommy got to make sure her baby look good”. A few hours later, I was beat. I did so much shopping for my baby people were offering to hold my bags while I waited for the bus. A good friend of mine from the Sekunde grade gave me a ride home. Du know it’s really funny when Du see people that Du haven’t seen in years in the weirdest places. Its been so long since I seen her, she didn’t even know I was pregnant. We got to my house and she carried all my bags up the stairs. She really got strong over the years. I remember in Sekunde grade she was so skinny and weak, everyone used to make fun of her. I was her best friend so Du know I backed her up. She had to go to work so I told her to swing, schaukel Von the baby dusche tomorrow when she gets a chance. I started to put the baby cloths away when someone knocked on my door. I thought it was Kennedy forgetting her car keys but it wasn’t. When I opened the door it was……MIKE!!

Sleep was improbable
Emerging from my bed
Like a delicate butterfly
Raindrops pouring on my smooth, darkened window.
Pondering miraculous thoughts
About being a teen in America
Freedom to express myself as an individual
I want to relinquish my profound story
Being a teenager with freedom is
Hopeful
Rewarding
Honorable
Desirable
The past is behind me, the future is just beyond my grasp
Learning to be flawless through life's experiences
Having the pleasure to persue my ambitious talent
Being a teen in America simply is my stepping
stone to future greatness.
Give away to the morning
Light is here
Look away from the mourning
Is she gone, is she still...?
And let the Tag go ahead
Without you
Find a place, a dark space
To hide you
What’s a day, a sunny day
To you?
Fade away, let the your rainclouds
Guide you
There goes the downpour
Long gone your hello...
Find it in you
To make that last stand
It’s a silent drive
It’s her very last one.
Here come the clear skies
There goes your fare well...
Light is here
Look away from the mourning
Is she gone, is she still...?
And let the Tag go ahead
Without you

I wonder, sometimes, if she ever thinks of me.
If she knows that I kept only one picture of her. Anything else was just too painful. In the picture, she doesn't know I am taking it until the camera flash goes off. She has been sitting at the schreibtisch in her old bedroom, and she is half-smiling.

I walk up to her, not breaking eye contact. Nothing existed but her.
The little girl was perched on her hip.
I trailed my fingers down her jawline. She still didn't move.
"Why did Du leave?"
