A few weeks passed. Shiloh generously got me an apartment, despite my protests. It was a cozy place, much better than any motel could compare to. Shiloh insisted on paying for it; he got a summer job as a carpenter for the summer. Even though it was probably impossible, I still wanted to pay for the apartment, but how could I get a job when I had Chance to look after? Sicily could only babysit so much.
One day, I thought of something that probably had to get done sooner oder later. I asked Sicily to watch Chance. She agreed; she loves being with him. I got in my car (which Shiloh had driven Home a couple weeks ago) and left. I drove around for maybe twenty Minuten until I came to what I was looking for.
The county jail.

Ty sat down behind the glass wall, on a creaky metal stool. He wore the obnoxiously bright orange suits, and had handcuffs on both wrists. He furrowed his eyebrows when he saw me on the other side of the divider.
"Kodi?" he asked. Then he nodded once. "Guess you're not dead, huh?" he sagte obviously.
"No, I'm not dead," I sagte shaking my head. He smirked.
"So where've Du been then? Du know I'm getting hell for your possible murder."
"I ran away," I said. Ty rolled his eyes in response.
"Why?" he questioned.
"Because... I didn't know what to do. I wasn't thinking clearly, and I was scared." Ty rolled his eyes again. I was going to klatschen, smack him if he did that one Mehr time.
"That makes no sense to me, but whatever."
"Ty, I had a baby." The guarded sarcasm and indifference dissolved from him, and he turned white like a sheet.
"You're kidding." I shook my head. "I'll bet Du hate the kid's guts," he said, somewhat sadly. I wrinkled my nose in disgust.
"I Liebe my son Mehr than anything in the world," I sagte defensively. Ty smiled a little.
"So Du forgive me?" he asked. I bit my lip.
"Ty, because of what Du did, I Lost my Dad. I Lost my home, any future career; I nearly Lost my friends, sanity, and my life." He cringed at every detail. "But now I have the most precious thing I'd ever held dear and near to me." He softened a little, and looked at me cautiously. "So, I can't believe I'm saying this, but thank you. I'm not glad Du did what Du did, but I'm grateful to have my son." Ty stared at the floor and nodded.
"I have a son..." he sagte to himself. He looked up at me. "Do I ever get to see him?" I pursed my lips.
"I don't know," I said. I didn't want someone like Ty near my kid, but I knew that wouldn't be fair to Chance to never let him see his father. "We'll see. How long are Du in here?"
"Now that you're alive and not dead, only 'bout five years."
"Well, then I got a lot of time to think it over." He nodded.
"I guess so." I sagte goodbye to Ty, and left. I returned back to the apartment, where Sicily was playing with blocks with Chance on the floor. He squealed with delight as I walked back in. I smiled.
"Where'd Du go?" Sicily asked.
"I just had some errands to run," I said. She nodded, then playfully gasped at Chance who threw a block across the living room. He giggled and she laughed, and went to go retrieve it. Chance squealed again, and held his arms out to me. I picked him up and kissed his cheek, rocking him back and forth.
Just then, Shiloh walked in, Home from work. The look on his face was puzzled. Sicily stood up, and took Chance out of my arms.
"Can I take him to the park before it gets late?" she asked.
"Sure?" I asked, confused Von the Zufällig question. "I don't feel like going though. Be careful." She nodded and left. I turned to Shiloh.
"How was work?" I asked. He smiled.
"Fine I guess." He came closer and hugged me. I began making abendessen in the kitchen. Shiloh sat on the counter near me, and told me about his day. An Stunde later, I looked at the clock.
"They should be Home soon..." I muttered to myself. I got out three plates, and then heated Chance's bottle in the microwave.
"Guess I gotta do this now," Shiloh whispered. I turned to him.
"Hmm?" I asked. Shiloh hopped off the counter and came close to me.
"Kodi, you're amazing, beautiful, and a wonderful woman. I Liebe Du so much. Do Du Liebe me too?" he asked, somewhat hurriedly. I blinked.
"Yes...?" I said. I did Liebe him, but whatever he was getting at just wasn't making sense. Then he got down on one knee and pulled out a small little black box.
"Kodi Hunter, will Du marry me?" My jaw dropped.
