Thank God! I learned today that 50% of sexually active college students test positive for HPV. And 80% of women in their fifties were exposed to it at some point in their lives.

I'm glad I got this vaccination before I was exposed.

Unfortunatly not. In Portugal the vaccine is really expensive and it's free just for the girls who had born in 1992. I had born in 1991 so I couldn't take it for free.

I had the three injections done last year. It hurt like a mother, but it was worth it.

@ zanesaaomgfan

HPV = Human Papiloma Virus

It causes a certain type of cervical cancer in women.

It is an STD.

There is a vaccine that every young woman should get before she becomes sexually active.

It's pretty painful, but is SO worth it in the long run. I agree with Cinders-- you should definitely get vaccinated.

i'm engaged and only sleep with 1 person and i'm over the age the vaccine is meant for. Plus I wouldn't trust such a new vaccine..

Nope, my family said that the risks outweigh the benefits of the vaccine. I've never been vaccinated against anything in my life, not even when I was a baby and I'm healthy now.

I don't believe in vaccines. Plus I don't need it. I'm in a monogamous relationship and we're getting married.

I've had all three and definitely believe it was the right thing to do. I received the Gardasil vaccine and understand that now there is a Gardasil 9 that protects against five more strains of the virus than the original Gardasil, so hopefully those of us that got the original can get a booster with the new vaccine. We get our vaccinations against meningitis, polio, hepatitis and other deadly diseases, why not cervical cancer.
