He threatened Squirrelflight so much that she revealed that they weren't even her kittens after all! In, the end she killed him herself, by the lake and only the power of three ever know it happened.

Ashfur also helped try to murder Firestar so Brambleclaw would take the blame and Spuirrelflight would want to be with him!
