I like the guy just fine, I think he's pretty level-headed and has some good ideas. But I'm not going to get too excited just yet.

Since I voted for him during the 2008 Republican primaries, I'm generally OK with him deciding to get involved again. However, as with most other conservatives, I have concerns about the healthcare system he worked to put in place in Massachusetts.

Therefore, especially this far out, I am most definitely not committed to any of the candidates. I will be voting for whomever I determine is the most conservative among the field, so Romney shouldn't run as a moderate if he wants a chance to win me. Also, I think that Rick Santorum might be a good conservative's choice.

I actually had this crazy dream last night that Mitt Romney won a key DEMOCRATIC election. O_O

It must be that healthcare thing.

Years ago, in 2006, I couldn't stand Romney. I forget why - though I'm sure there was a valid reason. Or maybe there wasn't. He probably seemed too conservative to me (don't mean to trespass on anyone's turf, but I'm a left-leaning moderate). But I've warmed to him as time's gone on. I think he's proved himself to have decent leadership skills. But he'd have to prove a lot more to me than that if I were to ever vote for him.

(Yes - I am a person who voted for Obama in 2008 who is considering other options for 2012. We're a rare breed, I know.)
