He LEFT her. Bella didn't know he was going to come back, in fact she through he didn't care at all.

So, she went to Jacob. She even fell in love with Jacob, without realising it. Although she was engaged to Edward when she kissed Jacob, Edward knew it was possible she loved him. (If you don't believe me, out read the scene in the tent over again and if you still can't see it then you don't understand Twilight.)

Anyway, he knew it was possible and doesn't deny the fact. Why should he blame her for something he brought upon her? If he had never left then she would have never spent all that time with Jacob. He has only himself to blame, not that we blame him.

From my POV, if my Fiancée made out with another man, I would seriously doubt her love for me. I guess in the Twilight universe, it's ok to proclaim your undying love for someone, then turn around a make out with your best friend. Edward may have gotten the girl, but until she was made vampire, Jacob had her heart which just killed the series for me. Everything was all about Jacob this and Jacob that. Read their conversation during the wedding in BD. She's telling him that he made her wedding perfect, that he can have as many dances as he wants, then she has to "try" and smile for him when he asks her, "This is what you wanted,right." Edward should have never left, yes I agree, but Bella didn't NEED to kiss Jacob. IDK, that's just how I feel about it. Poor Edward Cullen, he tried and failed.
