Can someone actually explain to me Alice's story?

Because of her 'visions' in her human life her parents sent her to asylum/madhouse whatever it's called. And there she was changed Von some vampire who was working there.

Alice's parents sent her to the assylum because she saw visions. Someone working there (a vampire) showed prefence to her. James came along and wanted to kill Alice, The person who took an intrest in Alice stahl, stola her from the assylum changed her and he and james fought, James killed Alice's creator and James left because he couldn't drink her blood anymore. Alice awoke to be a vampire and had a vision of Jasper she tried to find them and did. together they went to the cullen's house.

When she was human I think James actually turned her. That's what I heard.
