Does anyone know what does the red blume on the cover of new moon book mean?

The blume for New Moon is a ruffled tulip. It represents Bella, and how she wilts, but does not die in the experience in New Moon. It is meant to Zeigen strenghth, and beauty. The red parts are meant to symbolise her blood, where she smashes the bowl the Blumen were in. It was a turning point.(:

Since this is the one and only cover that Stephenie didn't have a hand in... no one knows. It just looks pretty.
