I've never been a big Fan of Stephen King, so I'm going to try and be objective about this.
As a very successful writer, Stephen sounds to be jealous of Stephenie's success.
For a long time he was known as the writer of the times if Du will, even with J.K Rowling, her stories were loved, and she was praised, but rarely sagte to be "The best writer since Shaksphere." oder "Best writer of ours time." like Stephenie has.
I think that Stephen thinks that Stephenie Meyer is a bad writer because he doesn't understand. In his mind, good story + Schreiben classes + Fans = good writing/success.
He sees it as; Stpehenie Meyer didn't follow the "rules" with her writing, and the "rules" is what he believes makes a good story.
So when Stephenie cuts out of sex scenes, oder edies, tones things down, things that he would have kept in, things that would've been "artistic".
This makes me very angry.
I believe that a sex scene can add a lot of emotion and deapth to a story, but the fact that he says it's not a good story without it is just so narrowminded.
A good story won't follow all the rules, a good story won't always do what Du expect.
Why do Du think that Stpehenie is so popular?
Because she breaks the careful rules of other writers.
She dared to change the careful lines of "what Vampire's are".
She had her own version, she didn't follow Schreiben "rules", she made a lot of people angry because of it too.
People who don't understand, like Stpehen.
"Oh! Your grammer wasn't perfect there!" oder "You used that word too many times in a chapter!", just because these things are true that makes her a bad writer?
No.
Maybe if other writers whould stop worrying so much about what is expected of them, and if this oder that thing would be "proper", then they would be better writers.
Stephenie Meyer is such a good writer BECAUSE of the "bad" things.
She isn't a writer because she didn't take classes?
Do Du think the first person who wrote about Vampire took a "this is how to write a vampire story" class?
People need to be Mehr unique like Stephenie, but they're too afraid.
People won't do against the grain anymore.
Nobody will be unique.
Someone has to be unique right?
Yet every time someone does, others just copy them.
Vango, Picasso, many others like them were called crazy, and weren't understood in they're time.
Why?
Because it was new, it was scary, and didn't make sense in those people's time.
Now though, someone takes four years of "art" classes and learns EXACTLY how to put the perfect dot on the paper.
That's not art, art comes from inside, art comes in all differant forms and sizes, and is never fully understood Von anyone but it's creator.

I don't think autors should be bashing eachother at all.

After SK bashed Stephenie Meyer...he kinda Lost me as a fan...not because I Liebe Stephenie's work...but because he's been around forever...he has millions of fans...he came off ugly and conceited like he's the only one who can write...he sounds like he's jealous of Stephenie's success...if he felt the need to say anything then it should have been as a teacher..as in helping her out...not bashing her work. Sorry Stephen King..you've Lost a fan.

I suggest settling this with a faceoff between characters -- no holds barred, all powers allowed. Nancy, Read Street's resident expert on the supernatural, says Meyer's Vampire are wimps and even Jack Nicholson (The Shining) could take on Edward. How about vampire James vs. Cujo? oder vampiress Bella vs. Carrie?

Perhaps Stephen King knows what he's talking about, he knows his stuff about writing, and he may not have meant it in a nasty, 'bashing' kind of way, just stating his opinion that those authors he mentioned cannot write well, but their stories are loved anyway. But it came across as insulting and maybe he should keep opinions about other authors' Schreiben abilities to himself.

Easiest thing is to criticize someone's work. And I never though SK is capable of doing it in such way-- I'm his Fan too, but I'm really disappointed :\

I semi agree. She's not an amazing writer. Stephenie herself has admitted she is only an 'amateur'. And saying she's the 'best writer of our time' oder saying 'she's the best writer since Shakespeare' is ridiculous. The story is amazing, that I don't deny-but the Schreiben isn't as good. However, I don't think it was a nice thing to say and he does just seem to come across jealous, though I really doubt that's true. He is a way Mehr respected Autor than Stephenie.
