Bill in the books... Help Please!

Well, I have read all of the books. He's portrayed very closely in the T.V. show. He loves Sookie, and tries to be a mainstreaming vampire, but does have those moments where he snaps.
I don't think I should really say what he does to make people not like him, though. The main thing, that is.
It's just, for me, once Eric becomes a Mehr prominent character in the books, as well as in the T.V. show, Sookie and Eric begin to experience some sexual tension. Eric represents Mehr of the dangerous, sexy side and most people are drawn to him. Also, Bill's jealous side is not pleasant. Oh, and Bill and Sookie's fights get really annoying.
There is one big thing that made me dislike Bill, but it would be a major spoiler.

Bill is a vampire who has to follow ridiculous vamp rules. I like Bill and he had no choice but to listen to his maker. If Du read the Bücher Du can come to your own conclusion. Just going Von the Zeigen which Von the way is VERY different from the book, Bill loves Sookie and would do anything for her. He made someone a vamp for her, exposed himself to the light for her, and always runs to her aid. Unless Eric has interfered. I Liebe BILL!!!!!

eric took a bullet for sookie twice
maybe the first time he was devous so she would suck his blood but bill was no where in sight he was out side killing some one
the 2nd time was when he had memory loss and was not the real eric but took a bullet for her cuz he loved her!
bill cheated cuz he was a lover with lorena,then she kidnapped him and sookie risked her life for him and eric helped sookie find him and eric gave his blood to sookie when she was staked

then sookie found out that bill was sent out to get her in bett and gain her trust and she would have never found if eric had not made him tell her ,she would have been clueless if it was not for eric!!

and i think sookie is in Liebe with eric but is scared to find out and i think eric really really cares for sookie!!maybe even loves her!!

I can't speak for anyone else but i like Bill in the Bücher much better than Eric. In the Bücher Sookie is really different and not as understanding as she is in the show, I havn't read all the Bücher but enough to know that Eric is kinda a leech who tries repeatedly to steal Sookie from Bill. I'd say anything that Bill does would be justified.
