Both were for the show\'s (unquestionably impressive) zombie make-up - but not one member of the cast has received so much as a nomination.
Lennie James (Morgan) told Digital Spy earlier this year that he was "staggered" by the lack of awards recogntion - but executive producer Gale Ann Hurd has now told ​DS​ that she\'s more concerned with winning fans\' approval.
"To be honest, if we did these things just to win awards, we would be making the wrong decisions for the characters and the show," she said.
"To us, what\'s more important is for it to evolve naturally - and at the end of the day we\'re making shows that we want the fans to embrace. If the critics come along, fine. If they don\'t, that\'s fine too."
That said, Hurd stressed that the cast of 
​are some of the hardest working actors she\'s collaborated with in her 30+ years in Hollywood.
