I like elena.She cares a lot about other people.Like in 2x07 when she was stabbed she didn't care if she was okay,she was worried about stefan and damon.She does have a problem with being too clingy sometimes.But she really cares about the people she loves!

Nope, She is whining , boring and annoying ,What the hell is her problem "why Stefan is enjoying the party without me", "Why everyone's not calling me."She is not the center of universe, who the hell she thinks she is.I love Caroline and Bonnie.Both are my favorite female characters in the show.Caroline is kick ass, witty dangerous vampire,Bonnie is scared of her power still she goes any extent to use it to protect her closed ones.Caroline and Bonnie are complex characters(vulnerable still strong) where's Elena is plain boring.Plus Elena has big problem with questioning again and again.UGH...

I love her

Elena Gilbert is the nicest character I know in The Vampire Diaries. She tries to sacrifice herself for the people she cares about. She treats Stefan and Damon like they are humans, she doesn't care what they are. She supports her bestfriend, Bonnie, with Jeremy. In the beginning when Jeremy had drug issues because of their loss, Elena was there for him. She fights to be with Stefan. She tries bringing out Damon's humanity. I'll stop. XD
