Caroline was making homework, yes homework, when someone rang the doorbell. Her mother wasn’t home, so she’d have to get up.
As soon as she opened, she wanted to close the door again, but Ronnie stuck out her foot.
“Five minutes” she said. Caroline sighed and opened the door. “What?” she asked.
“I, eh,…I want to apologize” Ronnie started. “The way I harassed you. I was going too far. I know you’re close with Tyler and I jumped into conclusions. I assumed Du knew where he was”
“And I told Du I didn’t” Caroline replied cold.
“Yeah, I know” Ronnie said. “That’s why I’m here. To tell Du I’m sorry”
“Apology accepted” Caroline sagte careless. “Look, I’m a little busy, so maybe Du can leave, already?”
“I want to make it up to you” Ronnie sagte fast before Caroline could shut the door. “Tyler and I are going to the Filme tonight” She looked over her shoulder as she sagte Tyler’s name. He was sitting in the car. “And we’d Liebe it if you’d come with us”
Caroline’s mouth dropped open. “You’re asking me to be the third wheel on your date? Unbelievable” she sagte disgusted.
“I’m just trying to reach out, Caroline” Ronnie said.
“Go to hell” Caroline sagte and she slammed the door.
