He wants nothing more than to be a better man. I don't think it's that he wants Amy to change him completely, I think that he wants to change himself to be the kind of guy that deserves her. He's a good person and he wants to start acting more like a good person.

^So do I. Adrians like I know and accept you we belong together. Ok so she's basically saying you can cheat on me all you want and I won't care.Ricky wants to change himself so he dosent go around sleeping with a bunch of people he dosent care about. He wants to be with only one person : Amy.

You know what I found annoying in that episode. That Ashley too was trying to convince him that he could never change and be in a relationship. It's so annoying. Why cant they accept that Ricky dosent want to be with Ashley or Adrian. Just Amy :)

I agree with @newyork621 & @swimchick! I think that Ricky wants someone that makes him want to change, someone that he has to be a better person to deserve and Amy is that person. I think she understands where he comes from and accepts who he is, but knows that she deserves someone who treats her right, and I think Ricky wants to be understood, but yet, challenged to be better at the same time...if that makes any sense!

He wants to not only be a better dad for John, but ALSO a better guy for Amy. I think Amy can accept who he is and understand what he's been through, but she also thinks he can do so much better!

Ricky needs acceptance. He is already changing by himself. He doesn't need someone to change him for their purposes only. Ricky doesn't need to be judged.
