Marissa without a doubt they really loved each other up until the Minute she died . That was the only time Ryan cried when she died. They were soulmates!

yeah they were, Du can tell from when he first moved to California the way they both looked at eachother that first Tag when she was with luke but Ryan didn't know... it was adorable. Ryan made her happier and they always faught yet got bck together... Liebe them soo much

Ok, so yes Marisa may be seen as soul mates, but that doesn't change the fact that she died. Ryan couldn't give up on Liebe and stop living his life, he had to be happy again. Taylor helped him get over his loss, and fell for her in the process. Their relationship Taylor and Ryan's was mainly a mix of lust and comedy. She made him smile Mehr in one season than he ever did with Marisa, although I Liebe her but all Ryan ever did was chase after her to protect her from some situation she got herself in, then after all that tell him he is being completely unfair and jealous. He was better without her! I'm sorry and Liebe is hard but he was. They only slept together once anyway compared to how many she did with volcheck (or whatever his name was) oder Alex. So based on the facts that she is dead and not really a contender Taylor was the perfect relationship for Ryan Atwood, he has grown up and she made him happy.
Although Ryan and Marissa's Liebe was a total messed, it was so powerful. All the times they kept running back to each other, it was such an epic love.
On the other hand, Ryan and Taylor's Liebe was funny and witty, it was the right love.
