Okay, to get things straight, the 100 fandom on fanpop is flawless 100% perfect respectful baes. Everyone is very civil and open-minded, even when sharing different opinions, and this feels like the one safe place I can come to discuss this show. We can debate stuff without actually arguing, and it's so damn nice.

With that being said, the 100 fandom in general is a fucking mess. I go on tumblr because I want to see pretty gifs, and all there is in the tag is ship wars. So much Bellarke vs. Clexa bullshit and so much hatred on both sides. With the Bellarkes telling Clexas to go kill themselves and being huge, insensitive assholes about Lexa's death; and with the Clexas and their horrible racism towards Bob and their blatant bi-erasure of Clarke. As a bi girl I can't even scroll through the tag without wanting to punch a wall at all the ignorance. I had to actually just stop going on the tag altogether after a Clexa anon called a black Bellarke fan the n-word. That was the breaking point for me. And I know things are just as, if not more, hostile on twitter. jfc.

This show may be a damn mess, but the fandom is somehow still more of a mess than the show.

On Tumblr at least. I've never liked ship wars, and the Clexa/Bellarke war is so bad I had to unfollow a couple of Clexa blogs because the amount of Bellarke hate (and a lot of it wasn't even directed at the ship, but the shippers, which is just super unnecessary and rude). And the bi-erasure drives me crazy too -- I saw this one post that claimed if Bellarke happened it would be erasing Clarke's bisexuality and I just??? How do you not see how wrong that statement is??? Like, I love Clexa but I will be the first to admit the fandom is problematic as hell. I'm never on the Bellarke tag so idk how bad they are, but Clexa is definitely bad. I still lurk in the tag because of gifsets and humor posts, but some of the things people post make me sick.

The people in tumblr I follow are amazing, they write the most amazing metas, fan fiction, memes and they only spread positivity. The fandom in fanpop also seems to be great. But the rest of the fandom in tumblr and in twitter, especially the Clexa fandom (not to say that they're all bad, I'm just speaking from my experience) is terrible, and toxic.

Split? On Tumblr it can be so horrible, I could never go into the tag without seeing posts bashing others. Mostly it was hardcore Bellarkers and Clexa-ers going at one another. Or severe Bellamy hate.

I never understood why some fans deem it necessary to bash ships or characters they don't like, or worse - bash fans that ship the things they don't agree with. I don't understand ship wars at all.

It is possible to dislike something without having to constantly talk sh*t, jesus. It's not that difficult to keep things civil and respectful.

I've just learned to stay out of the tags, because the people I follow aren't like that.

@anaswill, it drives me mad. So insulting when people say Clarke being with Bellamy invalidates the fact she like girls. Some people seem to genuinely not understand how bisexuality works. If I date a guy it doesn't magically make me not attracted to girls anymore. Or when certain Clexas call Bellarke fans "the straights." Like fuck off, I'm not straight and I ship Bellarke. Get outta here with that. Oh, and I forgot my favorite! I've personally been told I'm "not a true bisexual" if I ship Bellarke, that I've been "brainwashed by society" to enjoy an "evil, abusive hetero relationship" and that I'm a "traitor" to the LGBT cause. I understand people are frustrated at the lack of f/f ships on tv but damn, no need to be assholes to bisexuals in the process.

As for your question about the Bellarke tag, it's 70% Bellarkers discussing the Bellarke interactions, 10% Bellarke gifs, and like 20% Clexas bitching about Bellarke. I genuinely don't see much hate directed towards Clexa. Maybe three or four posts total in the last few weeks. Actually, I see a lot of Bellarkes complaining about being harassed by Clexa fans rather than Bellarkes complaining about Clexa itself.

@NCIS, I agree. Ship wars are pointless and so stupid. LET PEOPLE ENJOY WHAT THEY LIKE. Never understood why people wanted to take away other people's happiness.

I mean some are awesome, some horrible. I've seen so much hatred from the Clexa fans on twitter...they hate on the show, the writers & the actors. ..They also hate on the fans who still love the show & want to keep on watching. I mean seriously? They are actually trying to get the show cancelled..I mean if you hate it so much, stop watching. I know there are mature and respectful Clexa fans too..but sadly I've only seen a few, hope to see more in the future.
The amount of hate that Bob has received just for basically being a part of Bellarke is ridiculous. The racism he has encountered...just horrible. He is being bashed for everything he does/says..it's just wrong on every level.
I will never understand people who think it's okay to bash the actors/actresses just because of the characters that they play on tv. They are real people with feelings, they deserve respect.

^ What's ironic to me about Clexas sending Bob racist hate + death threats is that he actually loved Clexa lmao. He was pretty vocal on twitter about liking Clexa and Murphamy, and even from season 1 has been very meh about Bellarke. So the fact that Clexas will attack an innocent ally of theirs just because they're threatened is pretty pathetic. Like he's an ACTOR, not a scriptwriter. It's not like he gets a say in whether Bellarke happens or not. And for them to try to erase his identity, which he's been very vocal about and has been attacked for his entire life, is just vile.
