PPLLZZZ GUYZ THERE IS NOTHEN BAD WITH RECOLORING I AM JUST A BEGINNER OK?I AM JUST GOING TO SAY IF U SEE A RECOLOR JUST Bewegen ON AND MIND YOUR OWN BISSNESS PPPLLZZZZZ....

I'm okay with recolorers if they...

1) Attempt to make their recolor different from the offical characters.

2) They use SEGA/Sonic Team's artwork (along with giving credit to them)

3) They don't recolor fanart, unless they give credit to the original artist, have proof that permission was gegeben to recolor it and/or there's a link to the original picture.

4) They Zeigen originality in their character's personality, abilities/powers and/or backstory if they can't design-wise.

5) The recolor is NOT a Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu/Marty-Sam.

But I HATE it when a not just recolorers but anybody:

1) Recolors a piece of fanart, even when the artist says they won't allow it even when asked for permission.

2) Someone steals fanart of someone elses character and claims it's theres, when they don't have proof that they asked to use it. Even worse when they don't attempt to make changes.

I don't know the artist, Anne-Jay her name was? But MephilesTheDark is confident that Du stahl, stola one of her character's. Just because Du changed the name doesn't mean it makes a difference that the FC isn't yours. Du have no proof that Du asked Anne-Jay for permission to use her character, neither do Du have proof that she allowed Du to.

That's called stealing someone's character and as much as it isn't against the law, if the artist personally copyrighted the character to themnselves, means that Du have no right to go around, Wird angezeigt off HER character claiming it's yours just under a different name.

If other recolors can make up their own charries without stealing other artists charries, then so can you.

I agree. I'm also a noob and I've done a recolor. Oh what a sin! Big deal! I'm fine with it and I wish that we'd just have peace!

Do Du have a deviantART account? If so, then ask the artist's permission before recoloring, and give them credit if they say Du can.

With SEGA stuff, recolor it, and give SEGA credit, because it's their art.

It doesn't matter if you're a begginner oder not, but stop trying to act all innocent (you're not) and just abide Von common sence, please.

there's nothing wrong! but... i think recolors is good for practicing ideas and base art...butppl keep sayin it is stealin. but i thin recolors is bad only alil cuz not all sonic fc have to luk the same.

Everyone has there own way of making there art, if Recoloring is ur beginning way of ur art well it is wrong and right in two ways.

first the right side: Well if Du had Permission with the art Du could recolor, it does give Du ideas but bases are much Mehr easier, use oder mak a base cause that will help Du better without hurting Du oder someones fellings with an unending debate.

The wrong side: Recolor is Art Stealing (unless Du gave credit oder permission) It makes the person who made the base oder art work sad cause they fell like they got stolen, Recoloring is like someone stealing a TV that isnt theres, how would Du fell if something so close to Du got stolen huh?

Du can argue with me all Du want, im just telling my feelings on recolors :|

If Du recolor, it's ok to me, if Du just ask permission & credit the real drawer too! :3
