Hey guys! I apologize for that loooong hiatus. I ca't manage to write the story once school starts. So anyways, this is chapter 3 of "The Switch," hope Du like it! ^^
DING DONG, DING DONG!!! The school glocke of *Siena High rang on its first Tag of the school year. The campus was buzzing with students of different personalites. One was making her way through the main lobby. With students that many, it would take one to reach his/her classroom in about 15 minutes, the estimated time (especially in the first Tag of school). The student had her head down, so she couldn’t exactly see where she was going. Just then, something oder someone rather, bumped into her.
Both girls: Ow! Sorry, what’s your name? I’m, oh, sorry… Du first. *both giggles*
Girl 1: I’m Mar- er, Halley Constence. *moves hand forward*
Girl 2: I’m Elmy, Elmy Lotho. Nice to meet Du Halley! *shakes hands with Halley*
(A/N: Meet Elmy Lotho. She’s Zufällig and adventurous, and sweet and nice. She’s almost the same age as Halley, and a true friend.)
Marlene(^): Nice to meet Du too, Elmy. So, what Jahr level are Du on?
Elmy: I’m in the Sekunde year. I’m a sophomore. What level are Du on?
Marlene(^): I’m a junior. Have Du seen what section you’re on?
Elmy: I haven’t seen the Liste yet.
Marlene(^): *giggles* Me neither. C’mon, let’s go!
Elmy: Okay!
==============At the information booth…
Marlene(^): Okay, so I guess we’re both in the first section, only in different levels.
Elmy: Our classrooms are in the Weiter building, and luckily, both our classrooms are facing each other.
Marlene(^): Yeah, luckily… Let’s go! ^-^
==============The Weiter building….
Marlene(^): Here we are. So… see Du later then?
Elmy: Okay. Good luck!
Marlene(^): Thanks! Du too.
=========Junior’s 1st section classroom…
Marlene was about to sit on a chair when someone called her name “Marlene!” Marlene knew that voice, but she didn’t turn around. If she did, she’ll be embarassed to her classmates and at the same time, cause confusion for the students later on. In a second, someone tapped her shoulder.
“Marlene! Good to see Du again!” It was Skipper, only in James’ body. Marlene froze, she kept on thinking ‘What do I do, WHAT DO I DO?! Man, why does it have to be this way?’ She sighed and regained her composure. “James, good to see Du to. But please don’t call me Marlene, I hate it when someone calls me like that. Just callme Halley.” Marlene winked. Skipper seem to have got the point and walked back to his chair. “Okay, Halley.” The teacher walked in and the students went back to their seats. “Good morning class. I’m Sir Gelena, your history teacher, and your adviser.” The students stood up and greeted, “Good morning Sir Gelena.” After that, they sat down and began to take out some Schreiben materials. Marlene seems to handle her situation, but it looks like Skipper’s having quite some trouble.
“Brad Aguilar?” the instructor called out. “Present.” The student raised his hand. “Cole Aberias?” “Here.” The teacher called out the male students until “James Cortez?” Sir Gelena called out. “James Cortez?” Still, no one would speak up. Marlene looked to where Skipper was seating and he had a blank expression on his face. “Skipper! Skipper! That’s you!” Marlene tried get Skipper’s attention, but it seems that the teacher was the one that got her attention. “Is there anytihng wrong, Miss Constence?”
“Uh… uh nothing wrong sir. It’s just that I’m not very comfortable in my sitz here.” Marlene blushed at her fake excuse. “Well then, Mr. Aberias, would Du please exchange seats with Ms. Constence?” “Anything for a pretty little lady like her.” Cole replied and got up. Marlene also got up and sagte her thanks to Cole. Cole’s sitz that was Weiter to Skipper’s is now occupied Von Marlene. “Now that that’s settled, is James Cortez present?” Marlene threw a crumpled paper at Skipper. Skipper unfolded the paper and it read:
‘Skipper, you’re JAMES CORTEZ!!’
“Oh, right. Thanks” Skipper whisphered.
“Present, sir. My apologies for doing that.” Skipper answered. “Right, this won’t happen again Mr. Cortez?” asked Mr. Gelena. Skipper nodded. “Very well…” the instructor continued with the role call. After that, they proceeded with their rules and regulations, etc.
The school glocke rang, and there were students in the corridors buzzing once again. Skipper and Marlene got out of the room together. They met with Elmy, who seem to have made a new friend. “What’s up, James?”the student raised a hand. “Everything’s good, Joshua.” Skipper high-fived with Joshua. “You know each other?” Elmy asked. “Yeah, he’s my brother.” Joshua answered. “Elmy, I can see you’ve met Joshua. (Well duh! X3) This is Ski- I mean ‘James Cortez,’ Joshua’s older brother. They’re close Friends of mine.” sagte Marlene. “Wanna hang out later after school?” Joshua invited Elmy. “Sure, why not?” answered the thrilled Elmy.
“PAGING MS. HALLEY CONSTENCE AND MR. CORTEZ, PLEASE PROCEED TO THE PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.” The four students froze at the announcement. “PAGING MS. HALLEY CONSTENCE AND MR. CORTEZ…” The announcer repeated. “We gotta go, Joshua and Elmy. See Du later.” Marlene excused herself and Skipper. The two hurriedly made their way to the Principal’s office. They didn’t exactly know where it was, but it was a good thing that the sagte office was just 5 rooms away. They knocked on the door when they reached the office.
“Is there anything wrong, Sir?” Skipper asked the principal. “No nothing’s wrong. A letter was sent here this morning and it was meant for the two of you. The sender is someone called ‘Marlene C.’ from New York, but we don’t exactly know where. There is also a faded Schreiben which I can’t clearly read.” Mr. Allag, their school principal, handed out a white envelope with writings inblue ink at the back.
Marlene got the letter and sure enough, there was a faded Schreiben on the lower right corner of the envelope. “Thank Du very much sir. We’ll be going now.” sagte Skipper . The two left the office and headed of for the cafeteria. Joshua and Elmy were there . “What happened there, Halley?” Elmy asked. “It’s a letter that came from *coughs* Marlene.” ‘Halley’ answered. “Is she a relative of yours?” the curious Elmy asked again. “She’s, uh- one of our Friends in New York.” ‘James’ replied. “She used to be our neighbor, until her family migrated to U.S.A.” Joshua wink at ‘Halley’ and ‘James’ as he explained to Elmy. “Oh. Did Du read the letter?” Elmy asked again.
‘Halley’ (Marlene): “Not yet. The letter sagte to read it when Annie, my ‘sister’ is around. We’ll fetch Annie and from her school later on, then we’ll read it the park.”
Elmy: “Who’s-”
‘James’ and Joshua: “She’s our sister.”
Elmy: “Okay. Guess we’ll hang out at the park
later.”
Joshua: “Yeah.”
============After school ,at the park @1200hours
The group had fetched Annie and Micah from school. Let’s see what they’re doing right now:
“Annie, there was a letter sent to us this morning. It came from New York. It’s from ‘Marlene’. The letter sagte to wait for Du before we open it.” ‘Halley’ handed Annie the letter. “Let me see that… *opens the envelope* Woah! Could it be? It is!”
======================================================
So, what do Du think? Was it okay?
I'm not kidding about having my own alphabet. I made it last summer. No one really knows how to read it, not even my little sister. ^^
Oh, and if you're wondering how their adviser's name is pronounced, it's "Helena," not "Jelena."
And also, the asterisk I put before "Siena High" means I have a fact: I named it after our sister school, Siena College. X3
So for now, Ciao!
