On my last duty station at Ft Derrick Maryland I met an unassuming private named Private Perez. He very quietly mentioned to me he was a former Kumbia King. And we kind of thought it cool I was from New Mexico and he from Texas. This was 2008. He never made a public issue of himself other than to me that he was ever a Tejano musician.
