Then, a blonde girl, who had topaz eyes like my daddy, Edward--she picked me up. She grinned and held my cheek to her nose. I heard a rumble behind me. Then, I saw a bottle of--well, I AM thirsty. I gulped it up, trying to not be selfish. The woman was cooing, while I saw Jacob in a crouch...a hunters crouch. Tension rose. Get ready.
Suddenly, as his eyes met mine, he stopped, and his face looked like he was washed with hot water. He took steps toward me and looked at me. He was nice, he was a shapeshifter--a wolf kind. And my herz kept thrumming. He was not killing me.
