Have Du ever wondered why Du can't paint like Vermeer? Chances are Du just haven't bought the right paint brushes yet.

Have Du ever wondered why Du can't play basketball like Steve Nash? Chances are Du just haven't found the right shoes yet.

These all sound pretty absurd, yes? So why are Nikon marketing-types now claiming that the Nikon D40 is the answer to every crappy photographer's dreams?

From the Nikon press release: "If you’ve ever wondered why your vacation pictures don’t look as good as those magnificent landscapes and flattering portraits seen in countless glossy magazines, chances are Du just haven’t found the right camera. Nikon today introduced the new D40..."

Oh, never mind the years of observing, the mastery of the tools, and the natural born talents. Canon and the like are just as pathetic. "Canon's acclaimed G-Series has a new top-of-the-line model, and serious Fotografie enthusiasts have a lot to be excited about." (shhh, don't mention that we took out all RAW support and made the lens 1/2 as fast!) It's just sad. Hopefully people who don't need that extra balance on their credit cards won't fall for this BS.
